My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway at this elegant inn with its lovely, spacious room, bathroom and very comfortable bed. Great breakfast and gracious, helpful staff!

I love this spa. You are given a few minutes of relaxation time with a warm neck wrap and mimosa or glass of wine. I get the Thai yoga massage and it's wonderful for stretching muscles, particularly the back muscles. The spa often offers specials which are always great.

This is a true gem of a hotel, we loved it and could not find anything we disliked would recommend it to any of our friends.

Have just returned from an antebellum trip tour including a two night stay at the James Madison Inn. This is a lovely hotel, warm friendly folks, well-appointed rooms, luxury linens......but NO COFFEE AVAILABLE IN ROOMS! My husband and I are early risers and he went down to the basement eating area and waited for coffee around 7:30 a.m. each morning. When I mentioned this on leaving, I was told it could have been made available in the rooms if we had requested it.How were we to know? I suggested they need to have a sign indicating this. Also, the breakfast was not very good....seemed stale and in short supply. I've had better breakfasts in chain motels.

A stressful drive (I was late as usual) and I was thinking half my scheduled massage would be wasted in trying to calm down. The Spa had other ideas...a warm welcome, then a Mimosa and time in the "Relaxation Room" with a warm towel wrapped around my neck. The massage that followed was perfect. What a lovely place and lovely people who work there. I purchased a spa package for my daughter because I was so impressed. Highly recommended!
