One of (if not) the best kept old houses of Delft! Having lived in the city for 13 years, I only discovered this museum a little while ago. It is incredible to see that the inside was so well-conserved! Very friendly staff too, who truly take the time to answer all of your questions and who are definitely passionate about working there!

The house belonged to a painter, Paul Tetar van Elven, who died childless and he decided to leave his house to the city of Delft in order to make of it a museum. In the house you can see duplicates of famous painters as Rembrandt or Michelangelo. The place is nice, and the architecture is beautiful. It is possible to see in some rooms, like the dining room or the living room, the original furniture of the house; and some of these furniture date from the 17th century. Besides, the personal is really kind and attentive, and they are willing to explain you about everything you want to know. Still, the price is really high (5€ at the time) for the things you can see. The place is small, you can visit the whole plase in 40 minutes. In addition, there is no translation in English for some of the signs.

If you enjoy art or architecture this museum is a must visit location. The house belonged to an artist and art collector who wanted his collection to stay intact. For architecture lovers this house offers insight in how the Dutch well off were living in the golden age.

Quaint three story canal house with the original furnishings giving you an idea how a middle class family lived 100+ years ago. very devoted ladies (docents) more than willing to give you a personal tour (no charge for tour but 5 Euros admission)

This was artist Peter Tetar's home for 30 years. The dining room and the living room have the original furniture. Some of the art he copied hangs on the walls. The staff was very nice and explained the highlights of the house.

This artist is not as well-known as he deserves. I don't know much about his original works but what I can certainly say from what we witnessed there is that he was an excellent copyist!

Lovely little exhibition house by this copyist and painter, but what really made it for me was the wonderful lady explaining the top rooms, crockery, porcelain tiles etc. It's an hour very well spent.

A very beautiful example of different periods, but a bit small for the price. Some areas lack English translation as well. Costs 4€ per adult.

Museum Paul Tetar van Elven is het oude woonhuis van de oud leraar van de Polytechnische school (nu de TU Delft) die bijna geheel nog in oude staat is .Op de zolder is er een keramiek tentoonstelling. In december is er een extra tentoonstelling van Paul Menses die hele precieze pentekeningen maakte van de Delftse binnenstad.Dit kleine museum is zeker de moeite waard!

Bezochten dit museum bij toeval, wij liepen er tijdens ons bezoek aan Delft langs en besloten dit te bezoeken en kan met recht een schattig museum genoemd worden, van deze man hadden wij nog nooit gehoord naar door omstandigheden is het huis gebleven zoals het vroeger was en deze Paul Tetar van Elven was een verzamelaar van de eerste orde, het aardewerk en porselein in het huis is prachtig en vele uitvoeringen Deze man was tekenleraar van beroep werd ons uitgelegd en was zeer getalenteerd getuige de vele prachtige schilderijen ,ook de inrichting van het huis was grotendeels origineel. we werden door een zeer vriendelijke dame rondgeleid en kregen een goede uitleg over wat in het huis bevond , geweldig.Om een indruk te krijgen van gegoede burger en woning uit de vorige eeuwen is dit beslist een aanrader.
