One of the best drinking establishments I have been to. Huge selection of ales with a great barman. Relaxing atmosphere and somewhere you just keep revisiting. Search it out - you will not be disappointed

Recent reviewers have not been searching this place out and despite not having "big named beers" (presumably Heineken, Amstel etc which are "easy drinking") & still enjoyed the place. The staff are very welcoming and happy to help: just ask them :)

This place has got to be one of the best beer institutions in the world.Very famous went here for a few Dutch beers before we got are flight back to Liverpool.We were given a beer menu but opted for Brand bier something light.The pub has traditional old interior with great bar with 18 taps and a range of 250 bottle brands from around the world.Camra UK recognises this pub.Opening hours are. Monday-Thursday-12.00-01.00Friday-Saturday-12.00-02.00Sunday-closedNearest metro or tram. Tram-Nieuwezijds-Kolk-1-2-5-13-17

We visited the In de Wildman twice during our stay to enjoy the beers and generous cheese plates. If you are thinking of going to the Grasshopper, this is a better experience.

Visited this place in Amsterdam when I was there, interesting looking place outside and in, there wasn't any of the big name beers, just a selection of real ales which are nice if you like that sort of thing, have to say it is an acquired taste, and I done plenty of tasting! Nice place, nice staff, nice beer!! Thank you :)

We've been going to this superb beer emporium on and off for years, every time we visit this wonderful city, we always pay this bar a visit. We were here recently, 16th February 2015, and had to go in ,just to have a few nice beer's, before we caught our flight back to Liverpool. Went in as the pub opened,we were warmly greeted by the barman, who gave us a beer menu,explaining the different beer's and beer style's. This man's knowledge on beer was just awesome, informative but not condescending. We explained we were catching out flight in 3 hours, so something light was our preferred taste, as we wanted nothing to strong. We opted for BRAND BEER,i know it's not too exciting a beer, but the strength and freshness of the beer was perfect.This is a truely great beer bar,18 tap's,250+ bottle's from all points of the world,strong selection from theUNITED KINGDOM & GERMANY. Decor is superb,there is even a mirror presented by C.A.M.R.A.to this great beer pub. Easy to locate,jump tram's, 1.2.5.13 or 17.to NIEUWEZIJDS KOLK.OR JUMP THE BUS.170.172.174.272.352.354.358.to the same stop.You walk down street,NIEUWEZIJDS KOLK and onto KOLKSTEEG,were you will find this great pub.OOpening hour's are; Monday to Thursday, midday till 1am.Friday & Saturday, midday till 2am. Sunday, CLOSED. Great pub,wish we had went on our first day in Amsterdam and not our last day.

this is one of the best bars in this vibrant city. they serve a vast range of very good beers and the staff are very knowledgeable about what they sell, providing advice and recommendations on which be well suit your desire. they serve snacks too if you start to feel a bit hungry. the bar is always busy with a great buzz which means you may not get a seat. you'll just have to stand at the bar :-) we'll worth seeking out, just off Damrak and much better than the tourist oriented bars nearby

Found this pub on tripadvisor & I'm so glad we did. Not a tourist trap like some pubs in Amsterdam & actually frequented by locals. The bar staff were really helpful in recommending beers & were very knowledgeable. Prices more reasonable than other places in Amsterdam. Loved this pub.

As the reviews say, this is a brilliant pub. Happened upon it by chance not design. Wonderful atmosphere and feel and look. Nothing mod or fake. Splendid selection of beers. Hugely friendly and helpful staff, very knowledgeable about their drinks. A 5 star experience.
