We didn't know anything about the place and thought it would be a 'normal' museum and as we were only in njimegan for a short visit thought we would visitHowever we were given a suprise and we're greeted by a staff member who explained that it was to experience an hour being blind. Chris our guide had very poor sight and in darkness took us on a simulated trip involving a series of rooms. The whole experience was fantastic we had the most amazing time and would recommend families and couples to visit . All the staff were very helpful and spent time after discussing our experience. We would like to thank them for being so welcoming and knowledgeable.

How does it feel to be blind and being amongst blind people? Well, have a seat in this pitchdark restaurant (a table of eight) and undergo this profound experience. Who sits next to me? What kind of food am I earting? Where do I find it on my plate?How and where to cut. How to get it properly on my fork/spoon? Wow I can use my hands, nowbody will notice it! Being carefull while searching my glass. Excellent idea, this place. And the food? Well, I was so occupied by being blind for an hour and having the most surpising and intimate conversations with people I could not see and have not seen before. The food must have been allright because I did consume all of it.

Guides are very friendly and helpful which is really important to get you to experience everything. I didn't book and I got a spot but i was alone and willing to go with the Dutch tour. The guides and even the other people with me helped everyone else throughout. I thought it was really interesting and valuable and I would definitely recommend it

Went here with my family, Hans, the tour guide, did a really nice tour and told a lot of interesting facts in his very comfortable voice. There are also some small games/tests you can do before or after the tour. Price is a bit high at 15e pp but the tour only allows 6 people at a time so that's why probably.

This was a unique, memorable visit. Everyone should be able to have this experience where you can take a moment and empathize with someone else, in this case, a blind person. The first five to ten minutes were scary as you are in complete darkness with a cane, but with the friendly and kind host to show you around his world in the dark, you adjust to losing a sense. (Tip: Close your eyes if the darkness starts to terrify you!) The games for the visually impaired outside the museum exhibit are really fun and surprising as well! Every city should have this type of museum. Highly recommended.

You simply MUST try this one! It 'll give you a taste of the world in which blind people dwell all the time. On top of that everybody is friendly, you will feel very welcome and at the end of your experience you 'll be able to count your blessings on top of everything else. Make a reservation.

The muZIEum was a great experience. I would recommend everybody to go there and be in total darkness for an hour and experience what it is to live without the ability to see....

This is a transforming experience of "another country". When we emerged we saw the world differently, and a month on the impression is still strong.You need to book ahead to ensure a guide who speaks English.
