Great, sandy beach for long seaside walks. Well maintained. There's a promenade for those who don't like getting sand between their toes, a kiosk for hot and cold drinks etc., and a public toilet.

Freezing cold wind and even a snow shower didn't dampen our spirits for a long walk along the beautiful beach. Very clean sand and great views.

Troon beach has huge potential but I'm afraid to say was littered with every type of rubbish you can imagine. Maybe the council keep it clean over the summer??? Beaches abroad are cleaned nightly. Maybe weekly wouldn't be too much to ask??

Troon beach is right next to the sea which is very handy. It's also next to the promenade so the overall combination makes sense.

The sandy bay stretches for some distance. On our visit, the sand/beach area was unfortunatly covered with driftwood, storm leftovers and looked a bit grubby. I guess the local authority will carry out a beach spring clean ( unless the current asteritity cut backs prevents). Car parking on grass areas which can have standing water and be muddy after a period of wet weather. Flat walking and some very nice views. A short walk back into the town centre for some food nd drinks. In tge summer, car ferries leave here for Northern Island. Lots of hotels and guest houses but no major hotel brand name. The Troon Golf Hotel and the Piersland woukd be good choices.

one of the better beaches down the Clyde coast - and only 5 mins from Troon station with frequent fast trains, 30 mins from Glesca. carry on round the prom (nice old houses) to the peculiar headland (great viewpoint for Arran) and find The Wee Hurrie - best chippie ever - or McCallum's Oyster Bar (see review) by the harbour

Great place to have a walk and blow the cobwebs away. I would recommend a visit in summer as the beach is cleaner but it's great at all times of the year.
