Amazing property with fantastic grounds and a little cafe tucked in the courtyard. Was a bit of a wet day but still very enjoyable afternoon.

This is frozen in time from when it was donated and is an odd mix of genuine antiques and copies. Not often you see an NT property of the upper middle class who cut corners to give the impression of older stately homes (painted wood panelling effect instead of actual wood, for example). We went on the free open day (Mar 7 2015) and even got a free guided tour - very impressed and all the staff were very helpful. Liked the talk by the guy maintaining the property as well about re practicalities of caring for a house like this. Lovely cafe, very well kept grounds. It was blowing a gale so we didn't brave any of the walks! Suggest the guides are given torches since by the time we were going round the house (no central electric lighting) was very dark and I was using my iPhone to see details. Would have liked a few more anecdotes about the family but appreciate that this info may not be available to the guides.

Well worth a visit - the Argory is a charming country home set in a beautiful estate. There are nice walks around the property with lots of spring flowers appearing when we were there. There's an outdoor play area for children and dogs are welcome on the estate too.If you do have children I would recommend stopping off at the other nearby National Trust property - Ardress House, it's just 10 minutes away and there's a charming farm yard where the children will get a chance to feed the chickens!

We arrived early on the first day of March. The snowdrops continue to line the Lime Walk and to crop up elsewhere in bright clumps. The daffodils are in profusion but have not yet opened up. The river seen in spate two days earlier in Benburb, rolls lazily along beneath the fine 19th century house set in fine gardens above the Blackwater. We came too early to view the house but we must come back to see all the amenities.

wonderful place, well looked after and beautiful. we went here last year too around the time of their Christmas fair. The fair was fab! we expected a few more walks around it, but other than that it was lovely. Would be perfect for families.

A visit to the house is a must. Its like the family just stepped out for a while. Lady Adas Tearoom is just lovely...the hot chocolate is highly recommended. The Christmas Fayre in December is superb, the perfect setting.

The property is managed by the National Trust and comprises a stately home and adjoining gardens and courtyard. The walks include the "Lime tree Walk" where seasonal flowers (snowdrops, daffodils and bluebells) provide a wonderful ground cover. There is also a riverside walk beside the river Blackwater. A little café is located in the courtyard where there is a reasonably comprehensive second hand bookshop to browse in. The place is very pleasant and a tour of the house is possible at a charge. Children can enjoy the adjoining play area.

We have visited the Argory twice and it is a place caught in a time warp. Fascinating to see the house as it was years ago and hear the history of the people who lived in it. The cafe and courtyard are pleasant to sit in and the food is good. Nice to visit hwne there is an event on. There was a vintage car rally on one of our visits.

We arrived here at 12pm and didn't leave until 4:30pm, it was a lovely day out. The courtyard is a great place to sit outside and enjoy lunch while my toddler ran about in the big space. The play park was also very entertaining for kids. We paid the extra £5 each to get a tour of the house but I wish someone had of advised me that it wasn't suitable for kids as I had to leave 10 mins into the tour and I would have appreciated to know that the tour involved a lot of standing and listening to the history of the house (something that I would love had there been no toddler with us). I would recommend a trip here for something different to do.
