During the last three years I've been hiking in this park for five times all together. Beautiful locations are everywhere and quiet spots are easy to find just a short distance from the busy wilderness huts.I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in hiking. Just take a tent and a sleeping bag and the length of your hike is only limited by how much food you can carry.

Most beautiful walks in the national park full of autumn colors. Good routes with easy reach from the Saariselkä village. Enough variety for several days.

I hiked in the park for one week and slept in a tent. The park is big. You could easily spend 2 weeks without going the same paths. There are cottages you could use for staying overnight and places where you can put a campfire. During my visit there were very few hikers, I met only a handful during the whole week. I spent most of my time in the wilderness area where you don't need to use the paths and you can camp wherever you want. It is so exciting to listen to the sounds of the nature during the night. Although I was startled on last night when I heard some very weird sounds I could not figure out (first) what they were. I thought even that those were the sounds of the witches of Lapland. Or maybe they were...Piece of advice: take a map and a compass with you and do know how to use those! A gps device is also handy as a backup especially if you store the coordinates of the huts in advance. Please note that there is cell phone coverage only if you climb to the top of the mountains.

durante l'itinerario verso Nord Kapp, mi sono fermato per puro caso a Saariselka, ma mai sosta fu più gradita! paesino splendido e parco nazionale ancor più affascinante! veramente consigliato (mi sono mangiato le mani perché avevo già prenotato ad Inari, e quindi per correttezza ho dovuto, mio malgrado, lasciare la zona! ma mi sono ripromesso di ritornare e passarci un bel pò di tempo!

Un parque precioso, nosotros lo vimos en diciembre y es espectacular. Todo cubierto de nieve, un paisaje que merece la pena descubrir.

Suosittelen lämpimästi täällä käyntiä. Ensimmäisenä päivänä lähdimme Rumakurulle, erittäin vaikuttava näky. Seuraavalla kerralla mentiin 6km luontopolku iisakkipään huipulle. Parin kesän päästä lähdetään ehkä Sokostia huiputtaan.
