Didn't have to say even at once, that "Don't touch that" since there were a lot of things to try and test for the kids! If you are interested in science, then go here! While the kids try and test everything, you can learn more about physics and science meanwhile. There are explanations of all the little things there on small touch pads. Kids are 9 and 7 years old, not that much fun for the younger ones, and probably teenagers would get bored.

Various exbitions are at very high level. I recommend it for a visit even it is far away from Helsinki centre. We even kept one birthday party there. The program (chemistry for children) was very good. The science shop is interesting too. The restaurant is the only minus. It is very expensive even for finnish standards, so best to bring own water/juice and little snack to eat if you don't want to pay too much for it.

We caught the train from Helsinki and had to ask directions as centre is not visible from railway station although we were told it was.Loved it and could have spent a few more hours here but it was getting late. The basketball rat show was very entertaining although we couldn't understand a word the woman was saying and no translator available. The grandchildren tried just about everything several times and were very happy.Unfortunately we didn't discover there is also an outdoor area until we were just about ready to leave. We missed the 3d movie as had no idea this was a separate cost.Very friendly and helpful English speaking staff are available in most areas.Whilst some reviewers have complained that it is only one level, there are a LARGE amount of interesting things to do anyway.Even as a grandparent,I too had lots of fun trying different things.Worth the time and money and would highly recommend.

I live in Finland and when I was a kid, I loved going to Heureka. There is so much to do and see. The theme also changes which is fun.

I have been to this attraction in the form of a class excursion in 1994. Of course many changes have taken place there since then, I'm sure. I remember the science theatre, the Verne theatre, the science store, the cable bicycle, the scenic elevator and all the Macintosh SE and Macintosh LC computers as well as some PC's. The scenic elevator was actually just a room with automatic doors and there was a video screen inside it. The male voice in the video told passengers to imagine they were in a 250-storey skyscraper and going up to its top. He warned also about the air getting thinner and thinner. Then he mentioned something about the structures of many Finnish elevators. Programs in the computers and the scenic elevator were avaible in Finnish, Swedish and English; I suppose also in Russian these days. Anyway, the visit was very pleasant and as a matter of fact I would have wanted my class to go there again by the end of the school year. It didn't take place, though.
