Well we found this place by accident, on a road trip and stopping off at the bottom of the Stevio pass, and have to say one of the most enjoyable education drinking experiences i will ever have.

Gunther is a whisky brain and an entertainer. Our stay in the "swboe" was interesting and diverting. Furthermore I suggest to taste Gunthers own whiskys, i definitely an experience. They are no other servings than the water of life. If you don't like it, just don't go there.

One of the most enjoyable experiences ever. The host Gunter Sommer, or Lord Gunter as he now prefers to be called was exquisite. After sampling some of his own home made 50%+ whiskeys he told me how he has 240 different varieties, not even I could sample that many in one evening. As well as whisky you can also get your own square foot of Scotland as well, a wonderful combination! Gunter proudly displays his certificate from the Guinness book of world records confirming him to be “The smallest Whiskey bar on earth”

I had read an interview with Gunter in a whisky magazine a few years ago and had since then tried to find an excuse to go see the Bar. Thankfully, I'm married to a Swiss who wanted us to spend our summer holiday in Graubunden. I then managed to find a nice hotel in a nearby village so that we could visit.It was very much worth the trip and Gunter is very nice and happy to share his knowledge as well as his various new thoughts on how to make different styles of whisky. We tried a few of his own ones as well as some we knew already.Very nice evening and I did bring back a small Swiss whisky to try at a later date.

For anyone who really likes whiskey this is a place you must visit, it,s in a small village in Switzerland but has a great selection of Whiskeys, more than some bars 3 times it's size. Gunter is the owner and makes you feel really welcome and has a great knowledge of Whiskey and if you wish to visit the museum phone before hand to arrange, also check to see when he is open, normally only Friday/Saturday evening from 21.00 but also thursday at the minute. I really enjoyed my time here and tried quite a few of his selection and look forward to when i can visit again. If you like whiskey you will not be disappointed and will have a great night.Oh if you want beer go somewhere else !!

I came to Santa Maria and was not expecting more than nice people, family- and mountainexplorer-welcome surrounding, traditional Regional food and spectacular panoramas. So far no disappointments, but more than surprised I was, to find a real Whisky Bar, nominated as the smallest whisky bar on earth and offering more than 200 different types of Whiskies. The host taught me in 5 minutes the most important basics about Whisky and presented understatement entertainment at it's best. Own Whisky-types and familiar atmosphere makes an evening of fun.

Cette visite improvisée à cause de la pluie a été une grande, belle et positive surprise :-)Merci à Gunter de nous avoir présenté sa passion pour le whisky avec tant d'enthousiasme, nous n'avons pas vu le temps passer!!!Vraiment à recommander, et on y retournera, c'est sûr!

Nett Klein und sehr viele info's zu jedem Guten Schluck. ;) Gunter ist ein Netter Mensch der mit freude seine Info's zu jedem Whisky Preis gibt.

Jedes Jahr komme ich ins Val Müstair und der Besuch in der SWBOE darf nicht fehlen. Auswahl, Fachwissen und Charme; alles stimmt!
