A hidden gem inside the old city walls. Walk through the Botanical Garden, watch the old trees - imagine what it will be like in the summer! Definitely coming back!

Located just behind St Clemens hotel, we escaped there one evening having a bottle of champagne with us; sat there in different locations enjoying the sun and flowers and ended up at the seafront looking at the sunset. A romantic celebration evening.

What a beautiful and calm place. This was well worth the visit. You can exit the garden at the northern side and continue to the old city wall - very beautiful!

This botanical garden has the flora that is not common in the rest of Sweden, including majestic trees from other continents. In a corner of the garden is the ruins of St Olof's Church, totally overgrown with lush vines. And a statue of the inventor Christoffer Polhem (from Tingstäde, Gotland) who was instrumental for the building of ingenious chamnnel locks--and he invented the padlock! This is a place to enjoy.

Nice oasis close to the city. Not very large, but very beautiful. With some luck there may be even an outdoor jazz concert!

Here you can really find some unique plants and of course various roses, that Visby are known for. Lavender is also well represented. Lovely peaceful ambience surrounded by the old medieval walls

Very nice garden for a short walk. It's clean and well kept, and you can read the signs and learn a bit about botany in the area.

Beautiful, well worth a short stay. Many trees are labeled, so you can find out what grows on Gotland and in Visby. A beautiful stroll through greenery, and developing areas of the gardens are being cultivated, so there are new areas to look at, and a lovely old gazebo to sit in.

The plants we nice, but there needed to be more signs with the names of the plants. The art work was intereresting, but the need to expand the herb garden with some more unusual plants.

One of the top botanical gardens of Sweden. Serene, generous, varied, with lots of shadows a hot summer day, and sunny hideouts from the wind other days. Varied music performances throughout the summer. This garden is located just inside the medieval city wall in the northern area of Visby old town, near the seashore. During the Visby Medieval Week in August, most people will pass through but still this remains a quiet resort from stress and summer heat. There is not any café inside the garden, but quite a few just outside as well as nearby. Whether you love botanical gardens or not, I am sure you will enjoy a rest here. However, picnics are only allowed on the several benches, but not outside the paths.
