It's a moderate bike ride an then a hike for this great fort and magnificent view. Worth the effort to see these old ruins.

If u have good weather, great site. Little bit of hike and u need cash but beautiful scenes and great bit of history. Bring cash to get in and visit local shops on the way to get local gifts and sweaters.

If you go to this and don't like it, there is something wrong with you. This was really one of the most magnificent things I have ever seen, and even though I went a bit ago, it always sticks out in my mind.

like so many things on Inishmore, I didn't know the whole story, but that in no way diminished the fantastical experience of visiting this fort.

a trip to the Aran Islands is not complete without a bicycle ride to this extraordinary view of the sea. The sea will draw you in so no need to be too close to the edge. Magnificent stone edifices and excellent hiking and resting under the sun.

I hiked up to Dun Aengus on Christmas Day and it was a wonderful experience. No one else was there. The hike up was great and the views and fort splendid. It is a natural, unspoiled place you should not miss.

It was really amazing to see the fort and think about the people that built it. Great views from the top, but not quite as pretty as the Cliffs of Moher as others have suggested. Also, there is a pretty decent walk to get to the top (about 15-20 minutes depending on your level of fitness), so buy a water bottle from the little shops at the bottom if you need it.

An amazing attraction, well worth a visit! There are great views from the summit of Dun Aengus, an attraction I would visit again and again. There are a group of shops near by selling plenty of moments from the island also which should be visited

Worth going the Aran Islands just to see this absolutely amazing!Could not believe how high the drop off is at the cliff stunning views of coastline totally wild and rugged. The fort itself is amazing so lucky to have monuments in Ireland like this, it's like something out of Lord of the Rings.Interesting visitor centre which is very informative.

All the guidebooks say this is a can't miss sight, but to be honest, after looking at pictures I wasn't sure what all the fuss was about. After we visited, we realized it is way more spectacular in person. Dun Aengus is impressive on so many levels. The size and quality of the construction and state of preservation for a structure that is several thousand years old is amazing, but what we were most in awe of was the view from the fort. The climb to the fort takes you up a lot further than you think and the panorama of island, ocean and mainland is stunning. While not required, I would recomend sturdy footwear, as the top of the path is very rough. This is definitely a not to be missed
