Great experience, very oldfashioned, but we had so much fun! It onlu takes about 20 minutes, but it really filled my day with joy!

This series of old photographs gave me a sense of what Warsaw looked like pre WWII, in a way that may have been impossible. I came away with a newfound respect for the city. You sit on a stool in front of a viewfinder and look through the lenses so see mostly black and white photographs of street views, social gatherings, parades and other aspects of life rotate before your eyes. There is a screen above your head explaining each photo you look at.

This is the only pre-WWII Photoplasticon in Warsaw and one of only few in Poland. It is placed inside one of buildings that survived Warsaw demolishon by Nazists in 1944 - so the place has amazing atmosphere. It;s in the city center (close to Central Railway Station) but not that easy to find. Free entrance! Many seats, no waiting. Most of pictures shown are from Warsaw before / during WWII. Definitely worths seeing. Especially if you have 1-2 hours of spare time in city center - definitely go there!

As soon as there is on entrance fee on sunday, it's a good day to visit this exhibition. There is a small room with chairs and some pairs of viewing lenses. There are shown old stereoscopic pictures of warsaw and suburbs. It impresses when you realize that this popular nowadays "3D" was invented in the 19th century.

Do you want to see how Warsaw looks after or during the WWII? It's a great opportunity to explore it in Photoplasticon! It's an amazing, vintage place in Warsaw. Well maybe it's not easy to find, but when you find it, you'll be awed!

Well, it was not really easy to find it due to repair works. You should go through one archway to courtyard and then in another courtyard there is a door.I've never seen (oh, I've even never heard about) such device, so I was very impressed. Both by pictures of old Warsaw and the fact that people used it since the beginning of XX century.

It was a very different place to visit and very interesting, is a short visit but very unique. You just have to go and see what the place is about, of course old photos, but is special.

It's pretty amazing to think that people came here in 1905 to see photos from around the world. When you think about it this sort of thing was a precursor to the internet. It's also notable that the Photoplastikon survived both world wars, so you're truly getting a look into the country's fascinating past.

Photoplasticon is wonderfully quirky attraction which provides a great introduction to the city. It's located just across the street from the Central Station. Go through the arch at No 51 into a courtyard and you will find it's entrance in one of the corners. A suitably eccentric person takes your money as you head inside to a darkened room with early 20th century silent movie music playing. The photoplasticon is a rare example of entertainment before cinema took hold. It dates to 1905 and is a circular wooden contraption. Seats surround it and you look through a stereoscopic viewer as sepia photos of early Warsaw pass before your eyes. Many show before and after shots from WW2. You only need a short time here but it is a unique immersive experience.

It might be a bit tricky to find, but it is worth a visit. Unfortunately the cashier does not speak english, but there not much to explain though. We went there several times as they have different photo series.
