Wonderful views, definetely worth seeing. It looks like a desert. Pick non windy day for a trip. Having sand literally everywhere is not a pleasant feeling. Luckily the place itself mskes up for it, it's one of a kind.

I really wanted to see the Slowinski National Park, and got very disappointed on site. Maybe my expectations were to high... I've been to Sand Dunes National Park, CO year earlier and that was a stunning experience, or maybe I've approach the park from wrong direction - was coming from Ustka (west part of the park). The trails are very poorly marked. I was hoping to get to the lighthouse and instead approached one of the dunes after couple km walk. On the other hand, if you are in the same location a must see attraction is the open-air museum in Kluki which is filled with chequered houses - some 15km away from the west entrance to the Slowinski NP.

Sand dunes in Słowiński National Park are a must-see when you are travelling the Baltic Coast. You can get there by foot, by an electric mini-car or by a rented bike. Don't try to picnic, though, as you will get sand everywhere!

great day, we went in middle of August, we did not fancy the long walk through forest, so bought a RETURN ticket, we then waited approximately an hour in queue to go on mini train down to the sand dunes, then quite a long walk up to the top of sand dunes, great views, great experience, but then another hour plus queue to get the train back, we assumed a shop/café/toilets or something at end, but nothing, we had not taken a drink with us, as we were not anticipating the long queues. We had seen a museum mid way, but the train went past, luckily we asked BEFORE we got on train back, and train stopped for us to get off, we then proceeded back with a tractor type transport back, after waiting in another queue. Great day our, but too long to wait in queues.

We were accomodated in camp Lebski in Leba and went to Slowinski national park to see the sand dunes by foot. We started in forest, which is really beautiful and then continued on beach. If you are walking also on the beach, do not forget a hat or something :) It was 8 km walk but for me it was not so bad, as i am used to walking and hiking. Also this long walk was really worth it! Sand dunes are so beautiful and photogenic. The white sand and blue sky were really unforgettable. On the way back there are bufets with food, you can rent a bike, or take a ride on small "train", also there is Military musem and beautiful lake. I saw a sign that the entrance is paid, but no one was asking for money from us, so i don't know.

Especially during sunset but notice that local transport cart goes only till 7 pm, the way back to Łeba takes ca. 2 hours

We parked our RV on a campsite in Leba. The owner organized a small taxi that brought us to the entrance of Slovinsky National Park. From there is a shuttle service that stops at the bottom of the Dune. We had to climb up an after a couple of minutes we forgot that we were in Poland. The sun was burning down and the light was reflected by the white sand. We took photos and when we showed them to our friends they were guessing that we spent our holiday somewhere in Egypt. This dune moves and swallows bushes and trees that are in its way. That force of nature is amazing. For going back we walked and halfway back to Leba there is a shuttle service by boat that runs on the backwater behind the dune. One should count half a day to do this experience, but it is worthwhile doing.

I've been to the Dunes many times as a child, but last year we decided to go there with my boyfriend. I didn't remember exactly how it was, so I didn't know we'd have to walk more than 8km from the bus station. The weather was exhausting - around 36°C in the shadow. I also didn't know that the entrance to national park has to be payed. That was a bit of surprise for us, even though it's just 6PLN for person. We didn't have enough money to take a ride there, so we just walked. And I need to say that it was the nicest walk through the typical polish forest, when at the end of the long and tiring walk - there was a wonderful, breath-taking view at little piece of Sahara surrounded by forrests and the sea. And even though you cannot walk through whole dunes, it's really worth it! I totally understand, that they don't want tourist running around whole national park, because people would just mess and polute the place! :) You can take the same way back, or return at the beach-side, which is also amazing expierience, but walking through deep sand may not be as comfortable as walking at the sidewalk through the forrest.Anyways, on the halfway to the dunes, there's some World War's Rocket Museum and a bar. So if you need to take a rest, or see something interesting, you can stop there too! :)I reccomend the place very much! But maybe not in very hot days (at least bring a lot of water with you). Good Luck!

The dunes itself are amazing however there is a list of bad things. To start with, there is no card payments and no ATM on site - so bring cash, loads of it!!! The parking cost 2,5PLN per 1/2 hour - first rip off. Entry fee is cheap only 6 PLN however the gate is 5,5 km from the dunes. There is a boring long walk of at least 40 minutes through forest on a concrete pavement. You can rent a bike but once you get to the dunes you cant take it up there so you need to leave it on a bike parking, 5 PLN when secured or free on a regular one. Another rip-off as they do not provide bike locks and there is a huge notice next to it - you leave it at your own risk. As and alternative to a terrible boring walk is an electric car ride. It is quick but costs 15 PLN per person!!!!! Another rip-off provided by private company not a park. Finally when you get to the dunes you can literally only walk on top and go down. Not what I would expect from a National Park. So the choice you have is more than 150 PLN cost for a 2+2 family or a boring and tiring visit. The suggestion I have is to avoid forest and walk along the beach, it is long, wide and amazingly empty. Or maybe just skip it - this is my personal advice - and saying it I have to admit that I am a fun of nature and could spend all my time in Real national parks.
