Totally different from other Polish town halls as it was designed by Italian architect in 17th century (although some parts were added in later centuries). Strikingly symetric building that is standing on a 100x100 metres square. It simply looks amazing so take your time, walk around and watch it from different angles. Climb the stairs and take a look a the Great Market Square.

Lovely building that has an excellent Tourist Information Centre right on the great Market Square. Shops and eating places all around.

The Town Hall is the centerpiece of Zamosc Old Town, designed by the Italian architect Bernardo Morando for the founder of the town, Jan Zamoyski. It's spectacular double staircase was added later. It's a bit out of place in the overall town design but it wonderful to look at over a beer in the cafes across the square.

This beautiful building was originally built in 1591 and reconstructed in the mid 17th century. In the summer, a trumpeter sounds a bugle call from the tower toward three corners of the world. Interestingly, the founder of Zamosc did not want the town hall to ' dominate' his nearby palace, (which is equally spectacular) so had the building constructed in a corner of the square in a row of tenement houses. It didn't work .. there is no ignoring this spectacular building.

The main square in Zamosc is very different to other Polish cities, it is built in the Italian style and has been beautifully preserved and restored, a real gem.
