This village is so pretty, you can't help taking several photos. It is easily accessible along the wine route and the town is very small and walkable. I am sure it is overrun with tourist during high season, but we had few tourists and lots of locals. Definitely worth a visit.

This is such a lovely little place! Strolling down its streets is like being in another century. It's a great town to let your toddler loose and just follow behind. Not to be missed!

The houses are all uniquely colourful, the roses are huge and blooming. The people are shy, the pace of life is slow.It takes about 45 minutes to walk around the town, we were able to go during the week when no tourists where around and so loved the lazy stroll.A place to retire maybe.

Egisheim is chosen as the most beautiful and best conserved small village in the Alsace region. Already in the time of the Romans was here a castle, in which probably was born in the year 1002 “Bruno von Egisheim-Dagsburg”, who became in1049 Pope Leo IX.In the 19th century a big part from the castle has being broken off together with the octagonal medieval tower, which they replaced by a neo-roman-Byzantine chapel to remember Pope Leo IX.Nice item during tour of the village, do not miss it.

We recently visited here and Kaysersberg, and stayed in Colmar. Colmar was fine, but we now wish that we had stayed here to be able to soak up even more ambiance. Eguisheim is a "fairy tale and princess" village that reaches out to the visitor in medieval beauty and charm. We visited in October, so the village was not filled with tourists. Good wine with a picnic lunch on the square...perfect!

Very pretty village in Alsace with a circular walk - called "la ceinture" (belt) - between medieval buildings; also has an attractive square by the main church. There are also a few incredibly narrow timber-framed houses which jut out from the others and are very photogenic. Plenty of shops and places to eat/drink; we found some free parking just by the side of a main road on the edge of the village, from where it was five minutes' walk to the centre. Definitely worth pausing here for a couple of hours if visiting the Wine Route villages.

This is a charming village well served by restaurants and a range of small local shops. The whole place is delightful to wander around - lots of history, flowers are everywhere. We went for a lovely walk out from the top of the village through the vineyards first and then the forest upto the three towers on the hill above.

What a magical place, so pretty in Summer with all the flowers everywhere. So neat and tidy. A lot of visitors during the day but yet very quiet in the evenings. unlike Kaysersberg, this small village is in a shape of an oval/circle with narrow streets. Beautiful. And of course, you can admire the famous storks on the top of the churches roofs.Situated on the wine route, there are a lot of small vineyards around.You must come and see this place.
