I stepped inside this museum expecting to spend there 30 minutes or so... as it often happens in local museums but I was so wrong! It was a passionating experience: life and traditions of alsacian people are wonderfully displayed and explained. The audioguide is included in the entry fee and it could not be more exhaustive and clearer. The reconstruction of traditional interiors of houses in Alsace is also worth the visit. I am going to visit again Strasbourg and for sure I will include some more time in this wonderful museum in my trip.

This museum shows how life was like for everyday folk in old Strasbourg, it's actually a large house that you move around. Its interesting for adults but teens will get bored quickly, not much interactivity.

I really liked the displays and thought they seemed very authentic. But since I cannot understand any French, many of the displays were meaningless for me. They did have a booklet with a description, but not everything. The English was not well done. Also, it was difficult to traverse the museum, as the next rooms were difficult to figure out.

I stumbled onto this museum by accident and spent several hours there learning about the Alsatian culture through different themed rooms that went from the top to the cellar. A must if you want to understand this part of France.

This is one of those places which you tend to find yourself wandering into on a poor rainy day, but it shouldn't be just reserved for poor weather. This is a unique and well thought out museum showing the history and turbulent past of Alsace and Strasbourg. Once German, then French, it's history is unique being located n the border of Germany and it's traditions are very strong and quite rightly held onto, with much pride by the local people.A lovely old Alsace building with plenty to see and do, with beautiful architecture. Don't miss this little gem of a museum.
