My wife and I visited the Musee Lalique-besides seeing the manner and form that an end product goes through the museum with its jewellery and crystal ojects and historical photo shows is an absolute must do if in the are or even travelling to if close by-interesting in the extreme and this comes from your hotdog and rugby type fan-so believe me when I say this is an interesting and educational visit and something well worth doing

I visited the Lalique museum early in its development. It's truly a wonderful place to see all (or most) of the work of M. R Lalique. He was a very prolific artisan first in jewelry and then of course in glass. He produced a total of 30 glass car mascots formed out of his love of all things from nature & life. Woderfull animals, birds, insects and of course sumpteous nude females!.. Only a few of these *Bouchons de radiateur-mascottes are on display.- It's a shame the public are not admitted to the near by factory for obvious health & safety reasons.-*See them all on the club website at: www.brmmbrmm.com/lbcc.bband also for sale on: www.uniquelaliquemascots.co.uk

Beautiful museum tucked away in the Northern Vosges dedicated to the surprisingly influential Rene Lalique and his family business.I'd heard of Lalique's jewellery design before but was completely unaware of his glasswork -- and the fact that he pioneered the branded perfume bottle -- therefore being one of the pioneers of modern marketing. The exhibits in the museum are astoundingly beautifully crafted and the layout of the building is accordingly tasteful and impressive -- with most captions in French, German and English. There are some fascinating video presentations towards the end showing how this ornate glass and crystal work is still produced in the company's factory. The shop sells some marvellous gifts, handmade in the factory. A lovely museum in a very peaceful spot -- well worth the drive to get there.

Wingen-sur-Moder is not really on the way to any tourist destination - exception of course Strasbourg, But it is worthwhile to go. The Musee Lalique (Museum of the founder of the glass and cristal production René Lalique) is a beauty not to be missed. Even people that are not interested in glass should have a look: Art Nouveau jewellery at its finest (that's how René started), glass perfume "flacons" for all big brands, from 1920s to nowadays, vases, lamps, table ware in all rainbow colours, and always: nature, the female, flowers, twigs, birds and fish. Personnel is extremely nice and: You are allowed to take pictures (without flash). That should be an example for all museums! The entrance is moderate, with special family cards available!

We came across this Museum by accident when we saw it mentioned on a road sign and decided to make a visit. About 40 minutes later, following a long diversion for road works, we arrived. It was well worth the journey! The permanent exhibition was excellent and the temporary exhibition (the Aquatic World of Lalique) was, if anything, even better. We saw some of the most beautiful pieces of jewellery and glassware that we have only seen in photographs before. The information boards, interactive screens and films of the manufacturing process were comprehensive and added considerably to the experience. This is one of the best museums we have been to in many years. Wingen-sur-Moder is somewhat off the beaten track but we will certainly try and return one day. (The cafe next door is also worth a visit.)

We took a two hour drive into the country to visit this Musee…and we were beyond thrilled that we arrived to visit this magnificent creation displaying Rene Lalique and his family's creations. Absolutely adventure to here to enjoy not only the beauty of the grounds and the building itself but Mr. Lalique's beautiful artistic creations.

My favorite part was the movie showing how some of their pieces are manufactured. I was amazed !!!! There is a garden, but I expected more of this attraction. Anyway, for the Lalique lover´s, it is a great chance to more of his work.
