This tourist information office is more than just for information, it also has loads of neat souvenirs. There are also racks of brochures and pamphlets of attractions in Sarlat and the surrounding areas. This is a worthwhile stop at the beginning of your visit here.

we did not have a cell phone plan that allowed international coverage at a decent rate so discovering these free wifi hotspots in all the tourism offices was a great surprise.

Stop by to get some maps & pamphlets. This is a beautiful medieval town to explore. We were there during the crafts & farmers markets. Fun to walk around and listen to the music. Wonder off the main streets to view the private homes. Lots of restaurants and ice cream shops

They have all kinds of free brochures, maps etc. A good spot to get your bearings. It's right down in the middle of the village.

The clerks were very helpful and tried very hard to answer our questions, however, very limited English maps and guides are available. We would like a guide to all the major villages and sites.

Sarlat is wonderful. As we drove in, we were skeptical--the edge of the town looked modern and industrial, but the medieval city is beautiful. The directional signs are easy to following order to get to Tourist Information. My advice is to pay €.50 and get the walking tour MSP, the explore the old city. It is easy to follow and takes you through all the important sites and even back alleys. If you enjoy history or architecture, this is the tour for you. The staff in the TI were also very helpful in recommending an excellent place for a light lunch. There is a publication that lists all the restaurants in the city and the types of food they serve- very helpful and unique..This is a wonderfully pleasant city!!

Sarlat-la-Caneda is a beautiful medieval city, in a region full of attractions to please the whole family. You wonder how our medieval ancestors managed to build such beautiful buildings with so little technology, when today with all the technology in the world, our modern buildings are so ugly. September is a great time to visit - still warm (28 degrees yesterday) but without the holiday crowds. It is difficult to find a good place to eat amongst the hundred of restaurants all offering the same menu of duck-related delicacies. After just two days, we are all 'ducked-out' !!
