One of the King Richard (The Lion Heartwifes) from England has lived in this place. There is a grave in her tribute there (I''m not sure if her body is really there...).A visit guide is imperative to undestand how this was part of history and its importance!

If you want to discover one of Le Mans' most charming place, there you have to go... The abbaye de l'Epau is well-conserved and you can walk throughout beautiful gardens...In addition, from the Abbaye you can reach a big park with animals form the farm and countryside-related activities.

This is a trip out from town and not very much to see there. If you have seen an abbeys then this one is not worth the effort. It took us about 45 minutes to see and photograph all there was of interest.

Peu d'explications claires. L'ensemble me paraît "nu". Peu de choses intéressantes à voir par rapport à d'autres sites du même genre.

C'est certain : paix et sérénité......Visite rapide .....Belles photos ......Pas pu rentrer dans l'église ......Nous avons fait une bonne action , 2 entrées .....

Dans un cadre de paix (ce qui n'est pas vraiment surprenant, mais ô combien agréable), l'abbaye de l'Epau vous offre une vision certes incomplète de ce qu'elle fut, mais les restaurations ont été exemplaires. Petit guide explicatif très simple et très clair.

Très bel endroit. On peut y déambuler librement dans les jardins ou dans les salles non meublées de l'Abbaye. Le guide de visite est bien fait. Lorsque que nous y sommes arrêtés, une belle exposition photo jalonnait le parcours.
