The castle has a very interesting history - you are given a guide card on entry so can walk around and understand which parts date from which stage of building. It was great to be able to walk around the main hall building, which is used as an exhibition space, as is the chapel. There are great views of Collioure from the walls of the castle.

Quite nice to visit whilst having a stay in Collioure. It was a cold day when we decided to visit the buildings of the town.

This is a nice middle age fortress, with beautiful sea view.There are small, tortuous casemates and big towers.

Visited Collioure in early December. The fort had a Christmas fair with many shops, food, and activities for kids. It was crowed which made it hard to enjoy the fort for its historical value.Also walked around the beach, light house, and surrounding villa. Totally worth it. Plan on 3-4 hours to fully enjoy it.

We got in free one weekend, not sure why. We didn't get a map, so it was little bit hard to navigate where to go. There are lot's of dead ends that you walk up and then you have to come down the same path. There are no furniture inside the rooms, so they are empty but still in a way the rooms were very interesting. There is a great view to the sea and the oudoor paths on the walls were my favourite parts of the castle. Worth a visit.

We got in for free due to a festival. There is a stack of history in the building and it dominates the town. Worth a trip but not sure what the normal entry charge would be.

The castle is large and impressive, and the views are spectacular. Since there are no furnishing or artifacts, we enjoyed the art displays in the interior rooms.

Exploring the history of the town of Collioure through the stories of the history of The Royal Castle was not something I thought I would be into. To be honest, I am more of a drink wine, eat local food kinda girl, but I got dragged along and I am so happy I did. This castle has beautiful views of the town and interesting stories to go along with the tight quarters we were navigating throughout our tour. I say go! Check it out! Get a history lesson, don't wear heals and take in some culture. The wine will be waiting upon your descent.

Fantastic value for money only 2 euros (senior) not what I expected worth a visit and great views over collioure

Very historical and amazing construction in the period. I liked the scope of it and how you could get great views from its height.
