A once in a lifetime adventure! The caves were exquisite, incredibly artfully well lit with fantastic views all along the path. Very informative tour guide. A must see if you are anywhere within driving distance! Lots of stairs to climb to start so be prepared, Good shoes with treads are highly recommended as it can be a little damp and slippery in spots.

Honestly, I've seen a few underground caverns. But this one was the most memorable by far. The tour is a manageable hour plus with a witty (all-in-French) guide. The cathedral room was stunning. While other caverns run on and on, this one packed a punch with its central cavern. We drove 90 minutes to see it and were glad to have made the trip.

Probably very busy in the summer. Go off season if you can. Very different from Grotte de Clamouse, the other major cave in the area. We had a wonderful visit, with a smallish group.

The caves are simply amazing, well worth the drive. Do bring a jumper though, as it's really chilly in there. Price seemed a bit high but once we were in, we realised why. That place is just breathtaking.

If you are in this region, and suffering from the heat, these caves are definitely worth a visit. Bring a jumper as it goes down to 14c.We went on a Friday near lunch time and were very lucky to not have to queue (this can be very busy). The visit - guided and in French - took around 1h30 minutes through the different rooms, the most amazing being the 'cathedral' one. There are no toilets in the caves, so if you're travelling with toddler / young children, make sure they do what they have to do before the visit, otherwise you might experience some embarrassment ...

Visited this cave late August...no queue surprisingly and it was lovely and cool once underground. Didn't want to spend extra on the audio guide as it is expensive enough, but the cave and the rock formations speak for themselves. Our guide spoke French with a VERY strong accent which made virtually everything he said completely unintelligible - even with my good level of French. The tour last 1 hour and 10 minutes and the cave is accessed by funicular which is quite novel. So far so good....do not go there hungry! There is food available but it is terrible! My daughter had the children's menu...it was cold chicken and a plate of crisps with a can of pop or a scoop of ice cream - 5.90 euros. Horrible Horrible Horrible...the chicken had the most bizarre texture - needless to say it didn't get eaten. The staff in the snack bar/restaurant didn't seem to be bothered about customer service - laughing, doing their own thing etc - in fact we didn't even see there was a menu until we had bought pot pasta snacks that you heat yourself in the microwave. It could have been so much better because the setting is quite magnificent. There was no soap available in the wc's.

On arrival we were lucky enough not to have to queue for too long as when we came out the queue was emormous!! There is a little lift which takes you to the top start of the tour and all around there are chairs placed at regular intervals so although it would be difficult to visit if you had major problems with mobility they have done there best to make it as accessible as poss. The guide speaks only French and the guidebook is not as indepth as her talk but the caves themselves will take your breath away !!

Amazing grotte. Do not miss. Friendly guide as well. Visited on trip to Saint Bauzille des Putois. It has earned its Michelen 3 stars.

These caves were lovely and coolGuided tour with french speaking guide who knew enough English only to ask for a tip at the end! Lots of strep steps that you're not warned about so we had lots of waiting around for the unfit to catch up. We arrived at lunch time and walked straight in - when we came out 90 mins later the queues were horrendous. Parking is also a little hectic!

We didn't really research it, but fancied a day out away from the beach. There was quite a long wait in the queue to get in, but we took that as a good sign.We have been in a few caves in Britain and this was quite similar, we thought okay not so bad then when we thought we were getting to the end we entered the main cavern.I had been keeping my claustrophobia in check but now my vertigo kicked in.The stairway down was quite steep & high but what an amazing scene. We'll worth the effort to get in.The kids thought it was amazing.Stunning views all round had a nice picnic on the way back to the car.
