We had friends staying and by process of elimination found some places which they had never visited, it was the first place in the Gard to be listed as one of the prettiest villages in France. It's the birthplace of the fellow who invented absinthe. It's a nice place to wander around in Summer as the streets are closed to traffic, so it feels like 30 years ago, so peaceful and relaxed. Well worth a detour especially if you're in the area. The restored painted church is a delight. Lovely dining in the street under the trees

A pleasant, very pretty village in the extreme north of the Gard and providing access to the drIve along the Gorges de L'Ardeche. Wonderful panorama from the path behind the cemetery overlooking the river far below. Spend a summer afternoon having lunch and and a glass of Rose, wandering the streets and buying some local produce. The apricots and cherries are marvellous.

If you like Eze, you will love Aigueze, guaranteed.When you drive the Ardeche Gorges, staring of course fron Vallon Pont D'arc, towards pont saintesprit, you will come upon the sight of this almost medieval village sitting up on a hill, on the Otherside of the river. Be brave, go down, climb on the bridge, shiver all you want... the sight is a delight; the village is not a tourist trap, and has squares and vistas.Take your camera, and don't forgot your heart on the way out. We braved the rain as it felt likeDisney land for a kid.

Prenez le temps de vous ballader à pied dans les ruelles, de lever le nez pour voir les façades. Ce village est très beau. Evitez la saison touristique si vous le pouvez.

Le village, bien indiqué pour venir, est accessible facilement depuis un parking gratuit à l'entrée.Le village est bien conservé, avec des bâtisses anciennes, une maison fortifiée (le castelas), et une vue imprenable sur l'Ardèche depuis le chemin de ronde !Il y a peu d'escaliers, mais les chemins pavés rendent la ballade pour les enfants ou les personnes âgées plus fatigante.Nous avons visité le site hors saison touristique, donc aucun magasin n'était ouvert, mais je pense qu'en été cela doit être encore plus sympa !

si vous voulez retourner vers le médiéval, arrêter vous à AIGUEZE.placé sur un à pic, surplombant l'Ardèche, joli village à ne pas raterles voitures de touristes sont interdites dans le village, des parkings à l'extérieur sont prévus
