The 17th century chapel was replaced by this Basilica in 1865 and is the result of a vision by a local peasant named Yves Nicolazic. Yves was told by Anne in that vision where to find a statue of her and he found it at the site where a 6th century chapel once stood. Many people made pilgrimages to the site and Yves ultimately constructed the 17th century chapel. The original statue of Anne was subsequently destroyed during the French revolution. There is also a grand and solemn memorial to WWI soldiers next to the Basilica that is well worth seeing.If you are traveling by car, there is plenty of parking along the streets in the town.

Both interior and exterior are wonderful and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. There is a small park outside. The Christmas and Easter service are beautiful, with a choir/ singers. The basilica has been visited by the Pope John Paul II.

ok so have to be honest and didn't get to actually go inside the Basilique as there was a service going on BUT we did wonder around the town a bitBeautiful!St Anne is the patron saint of Brittany and the whole town is dedicated to her. There is a gorgeous staircase shrine amongst other things in the area around the basilique.I don't know about other guide books but this town was not even in ours and we only went as the Michelin map we had showed a star against the town so we were curious as to whySo glad we found

haut lieu de pèlerinage. Très beau cloître. Une grande fresque permet de situer les événements importants. Une librairie et n magasin bien achalandés .

Le site est remarquable les extérieurs et la basilique sont un havre de paix et propices à la prièrePour les croyants c'est un endroit incontournable je souhaite aux non croyants de trouver la religiosité de l'endroit les cierges qui brûlent en permanence sont le relai entre les hommes et le ciel je recommande cette halte à toutes et tous si vous passez dans le coin ...

Basilique grandiose, sérénité, recueillement, a visiter dans le calme, les vitraux sont magnifiques surtout lors de notre viste avec le soleil.

oui très jolie à voir ,la Basilique , le cloître , la chapelle tout est à voir intérieur et les extérieurs . pour les croyants et tous .

le cadre est magnifique, un lieu de pèlerinage. Un climat que l on ne trouve nul part ailleurs, une plénitude un lieu de prière. Je le recommande absolument.
