This is a great day out to a Breton working museum. The kids (and adults) will enjoy it.Plenty to keep everyone occupied too.

Spent a good 3 hours here and the whole family had a great time. Lots of fun with the traditional Bretton games and looking at the animals. Food in the café wasn't great - perhaps just buy bread and cakes from the on-side market stall.. The information boards and staff role-play is all in French so we couldn't get the full benefit of the site, but we had a good time all the same and would recommend it. Think it cost us about 20 euros for a family ticket.

Spent a pleasant couple of hours exploring the beautifully restored village. Easy to really understand what life was like. Like other reviewers have said, you should buy some bread and gateaux de Breton, delicious!

We were offered english audio that gave a story of two achient britan's who lived in the village. We arrived around 11.30 and despite a few large groups holding up the progression of the story we found the walk informative and interesting and could be taken at our own pace and would advise others if they wanted to could have easily taken the stages in any order (we chose to try and do it in order and it worked well leading us around the entire site) by the time we finished the audio's we went back to explore the afternoon events as each area changed throughout the afternoon with each area 'coming to life'. In the living area a food taster was laid out and people were happy to chat and try their english, the tailors room opened out to make an area for children to cut out paperdolls and dress them as well as colour them in. The staff were amazing and really made the experience enjoyable - customer service was a* excellence and I was rather annoyed that my campsite had no knowledge of this in fact when they looked it up on the internet they described it as a 'farm'. I was happy that trip advisor had sent us here as it was the best day out we had out of the 3 days we went to the beach and megalithiques (carnac), we went to the cathedral at Quimper (kemper) and then this day out completed the set - our three year old was amazed and enjoyed carrying the audio devise as well as feeding the goats (a very beautiful billy goat) as well as OLD traditional games like boules and stilts etc - no health and safety to hold you back you could get stuck in and enjoy yourself! Brilliant family day out! (just wish we could have understood what lunch was a bit better as we thought we were getting a set meal for 15 euros and paid 50 euros for 2 adults and a child to have 2 soups and 2 slices of bread and drinks - however fresh and local the produce it was a suprise)

We loved our afternoon at Poul Fetan. The staff were all charming and took time to explain everything despite their English not being perfect (likewise my French.) We loved the crepe made in the house over an open fire and then smothered in rich local butter. Our boys were particularly taken by the traditional Breton games and we spent ages playing on them - to them it was a like a historic version of the Cube - e.g one game involved rolling a ball up a plank with the intention of getting it to fall down a square hole. I used all my lives on that one. We enjoyed seeing the animals being fed and bought some wonderful bread and biscuits from the baker. A super way to pass an afternoon.

Our visit has been quite pleasing. The people there are really involved in their jobs and we learned a lot while we were having fun with their demonstration and their stories. The traditional games were a hit with our young girls (6, 6 and 9). Our teen girl (15) had some fun, but she was not as enthousiastic as the youngest ones. I guess if you don't speak french, this visit must be boring. By the way, it's a long way to get to Poul-Fetan, but we felt it was a good time investment.

This is a recreation of a village in the last 200 years. Right down to the people. This is no dead museum but a living recreation of village life at the time. Things like washing clothes, preparing food making cloth. The on site potter does some lovely stuff, well worth a look. Will keep even the most computer addicted kids happy for a few hours.

To be honest after reading the other reviews we were expecting more. The site is small and the farm buildings, whilst interesting, were rapidly seen. The best bit for our children (ages 9 and 6) was the small area where they were able to play old fashioned games - bowling, stilt walking and an interesting game akin to snakes and ladders involving giant clogs - but this area was also the most popular area for French, German and other families with children aged from 3 to teenage. The demonstrations were reasonably animated but too busy as they occurred sequentially with visitors moving en masse from one to the next. We stayed or only 2 hours (including our picnic). Not a patch on the "Black Country Museum" or other such exhibits closer to home. I would save your money and head for the beach for free!

What a fascinating trip. Really well presented by costumed guides. I felt touched by the presence of centuries of peasants lives. Good, reasonably priced food. Make sure you come away with one of the rustic loafs - still warm, they are worth every cent. It is worth devoting a whole day if the kids can bear it!

We Liked everything about our visit here. Even my 7 year old granddaughter was fully involved in the visit and activities, and did not want to leave. They have a really good restaurant and traditional working stone oven, greart bread!
