A gentle stroll through old Bourges in the evening following the trail of blue lamps at your own pace and coming across some gentle medieval son et lumiere - a pleasant way to end an evening

I visited many of the attractions during the day but the experience is totally different at night. A most pleasant stroll and the visuals were very nicely presented. Highly recommended!

What a surprise - we were only here for 1 day / 1 night so it was great to learn about this. We had dinner and then went to a free music concert, which we learnt about from the 'free' Bourge app. It was then time for the lights and music to start. We spent from about 10pm to midnight following the blue lamps around the centre of the town. A lovely calm evening to enjoy the architecture and ambience (we had also been on the 'train' tour around the town during the day so we already knew some stuff about the history etc (7€50 pp) - you get on at the square outside the cathedral / maison du tourisme.

This self guided tour of the most beautiful architectural jewels of Bourges is a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a summer's evening. Stroll from building to building, enjoy the music and the light show and if you have thought ahead some food and drink.

We found out about this from a leaflet and decided to make the 50 min drive from where we were staying to discover Bourges - it is a really nice city. The night walk is guided by blue lamps and you can get a leaflet with the route from the tourist information too. The introductory film was, of course, in French and while we got the gist of it, we didn't end up watching the whole thing. The walk did enable you to see a lot of Bourges and its history/architecture - we probably wouldn't have gone walking round the narrow streets and alleys of a city we didn't know at that time of night without the lure of the tour. Definitely worth doing!
