Visit started to poor start thanks to the receptionist. She wouldn't allow me to go in the lift with my daughter in the buggy. Only the buggy was allowed to go in. I couldn't even go in the lift with it!! The lady in the museum was surprised to see us as the receptionist was supposed to phone her and let her know. We were given the audio guide in English and left to it. I felt the museum was also missing something, information about the work done by the resistance movement. There was the smallest amount about it even though this was what I was expecting the museum to be about. There was an emphasis on the lead up to war than the actual sacrifice those in the resistance gave.

This was very well introduced by a helpful guide in English and we were then given electronic interactive phones to listen into various parts of the exhibition as we wished. A straight forward chronology of a harrowing time - simple, shocking and so recent. Great for children, teens, adults and of course thsoe who were there.

Receptionist at the museum is classic, all that bad about this country. There's only us there. She asks "just amoment" and then proceeds to do her filing - it's a wonder it wasn't her nails - and then complete some paperwork. After a few minutes of this charade I'm ready to blast her and vote with my feet. She finally deigns to serve us. Offer her a credit card. Complete look of incredulity - she's obviously never seen one of these before. Where do they get these people from. Perhaps some mystery shoppers might be in order.No concept of CUSTOMER service. A brown envelope and swift kick up the backside as she's booted out the door is the best solution. But apart from that the museums quite interesting with English audio guide. Thoaurs was the centre for resistance in WW2 and the RAF dropped supplies to the resistance movement. Of course that explains why the large roundabout which has most European flags up, including the German flag, does not have a Union Jack or Stars and Stripes!
