A small treasure hidden in the center of Compiegne, next to the city hall. I spent there about an hour but I could spend there some time. The museum has an impressive collection of dioramas and figures depicting amo. the Seven Years War, WW1 and WW2. You can stand for long minutes in front of a scene to look for every small detail. The museum is definetely worth of visiting regardless whether you're a miniatures geek or not.

Comprehensive selection of models from various periods in history mostly Napoleonic. Varying degrees of quality but very interesting to a model maker. Well worth the €3 visit. Gentleman in attendance very friendly and helpful.

This is a small treasure of a museum, especially if you're interested in toy soldiers. The collection is fairly comprehensive with an emphasis on those of French manufacture. Well worth a visit

Okay, I (the male of the party) am quite into miniatures, so this museum was always going to tick the box for me. It is inexpensive and features a staggering variety of military miniatures in various styles and from various periods. Its strength is in the Napoleonic, but also with some excellent Seven Years War, WW1 and WW2 displays, amongst others. Yes, even I (the girl of the party) became quite absorbed in the detail, especially of the large dioramas of Napoleonic scenes. This museum is well worth the time for the casual visitor and worth going out of your way for if you are a bit of a miniatures geek.

Passed this place many times in the past but didn't know what we were missing. This place is amazing. Young or old this is well worth a visit. The diaramas and models within them are excellent. A depiction of the battle of Waterloo in particular is fantastic. A place to take the children, or, if you are pensioners like us, I guarantee you will be fascinated by the place.

Des mises en scène très intéressantes dans un cadre agréable, près de l'hôtel de ville et de son béfroi. Des jouets également, ce qui peut plaire aux enfants, surtout un jour de pluie ou de froid!

Vous aimez les soldats de plombs, les grandes batailles alors n'hésitez pas. Juste à coté de la Mairie vos enfant et vous adultes serez admiratifs de ces reconstitutions
