We've been there the 3rd time already. The place is great and kids love to sleep there. All the houses are very nicely done. And we love to observe the animals for hours.

We took our 3 year old and 10 year old for a day trip here, driving from Metz. The zoo really is lovely, well-shaded for a summer visit, and includes a lot of interactive exhibits for the kids. The park is designed so that the enclosures for the animals are quite large and have a natural feel, but viewing platforms give an excellent view of the animals. We rented a cart for carrying around our toddler and our backpacks. Our children loved the petting zoo, the hedge maze, and the rope bridges in one section of the park. There is even a segment for children (and adults) to explore bare-foot through the forest. Signage is available in French, English, and German. The animals in the park are from Europe and North America, with the exception of the lemurs. Overall, it makes for a very enjoyable little day trip for families with kids.

We visited the park (2 adults, 3yo and baby) last week while on a week's holiday at nearby Centerparcs. It was only about 25 mins drive. The park far exceeded our expectations (though we didn't really research it much beforehand) and was a lovely chilled-out day for all of us. There are a few trails to walk, all very accessible with a pram. There's also a little train/bus with a guide, plus the opportunity to see feeding times and other nice things. It was very well maintained and organised and we felt it was fair value for the entrance fee. Only one eatery of the few was open as it was still considered low season, but we took a small picnic and there are some nice spots to sit & eat. Though we did have coffee & cake in the cafe and the staff were very friendly. A much easier option with a very active toddler. The animal enclosures were lovely, and at some points it's almost like being on safari. The bear enclosure was being upgraded so unfortunately we didn't see them though it looked like it will be very nice once finished. We'll definitely return when in the area again.

We have have visited the park during our visit to Alsace - Strasbourg. We went there by car and took the village roads on the way to and the highway on the way back. The trip takes roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes one way from Strasbourg but is well worth it.All the animals in the park are in semi-liberty and are kept in spacious areas similar to their native environment. Kids can watch them from rather a short distance. At every stop, there are information written about the animals in 3 languages: French, German and English, and animators or animal care givers are located around the park to answer questions. Feeding sessions are carried several times a days at various locations and are announced in the brochure given at the entrance. Try not to miss those! since in some kids can safely feed the animals! The animators are well informed and do their job passionately, they will answer all question and encourage kids and bigger kids to ask them! The park has 3 zones: Blue, Green and a Red path with challenges and paths for kids to cross and learn from. The Blue zone with wolves, bears, wild pigs, wild cats, deers can be visited either by foot (2 hours) or by train (1 hour +) that runs several times a day with the last one departing at 5:45. The Green zone can only be done by foot. It passes through a forest where it is nice to walk. We arrived at 1:30, booked for the last train visit of the Blue Trail, and did the Green Trail on foot (2 hours), the Logisgrouille and the Farm. I had wished we arrived earlier to be able to do the Red Trail! it looked so much fun! :(I particularly recommend visiting the farm at the beginning of the green trail, where the sheep and goats wander around the kids. Also do not miss the Sentier Pied Nu or the Senses Trail where you would walk barefooted to feel various ground covers. My 10 year old daughter enjoyed that a lot. Also interesting is the Logis-grouille just near the entrance that teaches kids about the various insects and rodents that can be found around homes or farms...Parc Animalier de St Croix is worth the detour. We enjoyed that as a family day out and learned a lot!Just always keep wipes with you, the bathrooms are highly visited! We didn't eat anything while in the park, we had had a large breakfast before coming.

A great zoo to visit, if you are around. The settings of the zoo itself is very nice: it is very green and clean, and the animals live in a very spacious area for each, and most look like they are in their natural wild environment. Most animals are not a cage, but in large hardly fenced spaces. The kids would love the various animals – from wolves, bears and deer to farm animals up to turtles. As someone already wrote here – don’t expect here safari-like exotic animals like lions, tigers and elephants, but rather typical European animals.Take into account this this is a big area, and requires at least two hours to cover – probably even more. One nice bonus there is the Senses trails, in which you can walk bare footed on different types of textures. It can be a nice visit if you are staying at the near Center Parcs - Domaine des Trois Forets, and want go out of the park for a short while. One tip: there is a restaurant there, which is very good and clean, but don’t expect usual tourists fast-food there – it is more of local typical food

There is a lot of room for animals to roam here and you can tell that they take pride in giving many of their animals (especially their vaiour types of Deer) a semi-wild environment to live in. Even the enclosed animals have got a massive ammount of space. Saldy this means that you might not always see the animals you want to see (in our case the bears), but perhaps this is not a bad thing? The various Wolves are beautiful and in great condition... I believe you can even rent a shalet which has a window backing on to the Wolf enclosure... i bet thats a gorgeous sight to wake up to!If you like European animals there are a lot on display here, and done in a very natural setting, and as such would highly recommend this parc. if you go to the zoo for the exotic (such as tigers, apes and such) then perhaps this is not the place for you. However if nothing else it really is a beautiful place to take a walk, and as such I bet is very popular with the locals!

Moments magiques. Les enfants ont adorés
