The museum is not a huge one and has shorter visiting times. Therefore it is better to check this before making a visit. The art décor and the architecture is amazing .

Even if you're not an art nouveau aficionado, this place is not to be missed. Horta had every inch of this place decorated and renovated in the art nouveau style.Truly amazing.

Belgian Art Nouveau architect Victor Horta built and lived in this home in Brussels. I consider him the father of Art Nouveau. I really enjoyed the tour of this home. It is a small museum with short hours and can be crowded on weekends and holidays so plan accordingly. Photos are not allowed in the museum. I highly recommend this museum if you have any interest in architecture.

Totally stunned! On arriving at the Horta Museum you are asked to leave all coats and bags with staff.I have a small bag containing an insulin pen and some hypo treatment to manage my type 1 diabetes - an autoimmune condition which can require immediate treatment should my blood glucose levels drop. However staff told me I wouldn't be allowed in to the museum unless I left this life saving treatment with staff.No museum is worth risking my life over, so I had to leave.I'm very disappointed as I had made the trip to Brussels especially to come here.The attitude of the staff was "leave your essential medical items with us or leave, we don't care which". I do wonder what their staff would do if I collapsed due to low blood glucose in one of their rooms but like I said, I'm not willing to find out!

This museum is extremely interested for tourists who are passionate of “Art Noveau”: it is possible to enter an historical house, where every element – architecture, furniture, decoration – is part of a coordinated, perfectly integrated environment. Despite the neighborhood is degraded, and the exterior looks quite common; I strongly recommend entering and admiring the beautiful interiors.
