Oct 2Like Piazza dell' Unita d'Italia, a stop at Tartini Square was a disappointment. I thought it would be more vibrant with more activity. As we approached the square from the parking area, we walked along the oceanfront lined with souvenir and beachwear shops. Then we see the square. It is very large and provincial but doesn't have any energy. There are university-age students or tourists congregating around some of the perimeter shops. After all the high expectations and even at one time booking a group of rooms at Hotel Tartini, we left earlier the square earlier than the scheduled departure time.

A laid back locality feeling. Shops and marina around it. A restaurant beside it offers great pizza's. Pizza Piran is the best I have had.

This small square combines the charms of Venetian and Austrian architecture. You really get a sense of history as you sit and soak it all up. Enjoy the views of the harbor and the cathedral that looms above. Walk to the market located behind the square and get some fruit to bring back for a bite.

the square is directly otside the tartini entrance. Its acually a circle!, there is usually a small maket going on most days, sometimes some buskers. In the evenings there are sometimes outside concerts on the edge of the square. It is a great place to sit day or night and just poeple watch and soak up the atmosphere
