Tower closed for renovations till tba. Could not see much of the interior as the gates between the front lobby and nave were closed. No information about opening hours.

It was dark and grey inside so unique in it's own way. Tower was closed in FEB. Big square looks like many others in Europe, try to imagine American armored vehicles liberating the city.

Honestly speaking, this city is fully in reconstruction now.So, except for Pilsner brewery, nothing much to do and see or look around.

It was closed when I visited, but from what I saw it was no different from any other cathedral you'll see in Europe

Cost 40 Czech Crowns - so worth it. We were loaned a laminated paper with information on the church. We took our time and really enjoyed the art and vibe. It is a pretty church with lots of interesting nooks and crannies. We had glanced in on the last visit but you really don't get a good feel unless you go right in.

all that was opened that morning was the tower I really wanted to be able to walk around inside the church.

This is a large and beautiful building, definitely worth a visit in the cental square of Pilsen. The architecture is impressive and the shops and cafes in the area make for a great stop to catch the view and relax

We visited only the tower, but it was definitely worth it. The fee is not very expensive and you can see the whole town from the top. Unfortunately, nice weather and clear sky needed ;-)

In the middle of one of biggest squares in europe (139 x 193 m) rises landmark in form of Cathedral of St. Bartholomew. 301 steps are leading to the viewing platform in 62 meters. It offers nice view over Plzen.

I have been in Pilsen for three months now, the cathedral is the first attraction I visited, such as the tower at the top ! That was wonderful ! It is situated on the marketplace, where there is always something to do ; concerts, outdoor theaters, sports events .. The next weeks are the 6 weeks of Baroko in the Pilsen region, in September on the same place there will be a enormous french carousel ! You will find more info on the website www.pilsen2015.cz which is also available in English and German. Don't hesitate to visit the European Culture Capitale 2015 !!!
