This is a branch of the ZOO located in the centre of Plzen where you can see reptiles (snakes, agamas, etc.), turtles, frogs, fish (and genuine corals!!!), spiders (big and hairy!!! :-/ ) and insects (usually as a feed of spiders). It is not very big but you can enjoy it anyway. The price corresponds (40 CZK), one hour is sufficient.

We had a quick stop in Pilsen on the way to Prague. The kids love all zoos, so we came here. The indoor exhibits were stinky and a little sad, but the outside exhibits were very nice. Great up close view of lions and tigers, interesting small animals and monkeys.

After an extensive reconstruction AKVA TERA reopened on 31 January 2001, then already 60 years an exotic outpost of Zoo Pilsen. Fish, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, etc, are shown in their real biotope, such as forest, desert, mangrove and Coral Sea. The complex is also is equipped with breeding facilities. Further: drier Madagascar areas with giga Chameleon, radiated tortoise. Rock Tunnel with 18 small insectariums, two terrariums: snakes, gekko, poison frog, grasshoppers and spiders. Mangrove: water dragon, aquatic turtles, freshwater- and coral fish, amphibians. Tropical forests South-East Asia, South and Central America, Pacific, African savannahs, waters of the South American jungle, etc.

Plzen is definitely worth visiting. And when you have already enjoyed the city centre and all the colourful neat buildings that are scattered everywhere it is a must to stop at the Plaza Mall to try second floor's ice-cream and then continue to the zoo. (It's 10-15 minute walk, using short-cut paths through the park). The zoo is very good, indeed. It can't be compared to Stuttgart or Dortmund Zoos which are absolutely adorable, but it is a wonderful way to end the day. The zoo is fairly big, full of vegetation and the tigers and lions are big and playful. However, if it is too hot, you may not be able to see some of the other animals. The Dino park could be disappointing for those expecting something impressive, however my boyfriend and I really enjoyed a quick circle round and a short 3D children's film, just for the sake of escaping for some time from the heat outside. Having in mind that Plzen is not a big city, I would say that it's zoo is fantastic and it's entrance fee is justifiable.

Путешествуя по Чехии один день посвятили городу Пльзень. Бывая в разных городах и странах обязательно посещаем зоопарки. Вот и здесь полдня провели в общении с животными со всех континентов. Для них создана естественная среда обитания. Учитывая то , что зоопарк сливается с ботаническим садом , то получили двойное удовольствие. Взрослые и дети с восторгом наблюдали за медведями и львами , за зебрами и жирафами , за родственниками нашими - различными обезьянами и еще за великим множеством братьев наших меньших. Пльзень - город , сравнительно , небольшой , поэтому добраться до зоопарка нетрудно. Тут можно перекусить в одном из кафе , заодно там же и отдохнуть , так как ходьбы много. Конечно же , мы устали , но остались очень довольны.

Schöner Tierpark mit einigen Attraktionen wie zum Beispiel Löwen, Geparden, Bären, Giraffen, Schlangen, Affen oder auch diversen Vögel. Niedrige Preise sowohl beim Eintritt als auch beim Essen oder Trinken. Essen ist aber nicht zu empfehlen, da wenig schmackhaft und unsauber. Für Kinder ist neben dem Zoo auch noch ein Dino-Park.

Wir waren schon das zweite Mal im Zoo von Pilsen und waren genauso begeistert wie beim ersten Mal! Wenn man nach Pilsen fährt, sollte man sich das auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen. Der Zoo ist in einem Hang angelegt und sehr natürlich gestaltet. Er bietet eine sehr große Artenvielfalt und auch bei fast jedem Außengehege Zugang zum Innenbereich, falls die Tiere grade mal keine Lust auf Sonne haben. Wir können diesen Zoo nur empfehlen, man sollte allerdings gut zu Fuß sein.

Für meine drei Kinder gab es viel zu sehen. Alles sauber und gepflegt. Das Personal war sehr nett konnte aber leider weder Englisch noch Deutsch. Konnten aber für unser Terrarium ein paar neue Schnecken erwerben. Fazit: Schöner Zeitvertreib für kurze Zeit

Pilsen n'est pas une ville immense mais son Zoo est superbe ! J'y suis allée avec des amies et nous avons été impressionnées de la diversité et de la superficie du Zoo. L'entrée n'est pas très chère, vous pouvez manger sur place et, bien que les différents parcours indiqués sur le dépliant fourni à l'entrée ne soient pas très faciles à suivre ou des plus logiques, je vous recommande fortement de faire le tour à votre rythme quitte à revenir sur vos pas. Profitez-en, les animaux sont à la fois gentils, drôles, attendrissants ou effrayants !
