Amazing museum with very friendly employees. You can decide if you want self guided tour or if you want tour guide. We decided on self guided tour. It takes uf 2 hours to walk throu everything it was very interesting. I especially enjoyed part about second world war.

I didnt expect much from this museum, firstly, the museums in the Czech Republic usually arent the most entertaining ones, secondly, the topic itself is very controversial and needs to be handled carefully, which in many cases leads to unattractive repeating of the "opressed minority - bad majority" mantras lacking any further explanations. But my presumptions have proven to be completely wrong, thankfully!The main exhibition, mapping the history of the Roma people, is interesting from esthetical point of view, very detailed, but yet entertaining, and presents many not-so-well-known facts. For example: did you know, that the apellation "gypsy" (cikán) used to be a honour once? The staff is very friendly and helpful. The audioguide is included in the price of the ticket, which is, in my opinion, ridiculously low for the quality of the museum (60 Kč). If youre in Brno, make sure you dont miss Muzeum Romské Kultury. Its definitely one of the highlights of the city.

The museum happened to be en route from my apartment to Villa Tugendhat and I had a couple of hours to kill, so on the strength of the great reviews the Roma Culture Museum on Trip Advisor, I dropped in expecting to stay an hour max. In fact I stayed a whole two hours. The exhibition seems at first a bit homespun in terms of artefacts, but the audio commentary (in English) is brilliantly done so that you get quite caught up in it, including of course the harrowing extermination of the vast majority of the Roma during the Nazi occupation, which is very soberly and movingly narrated. I was pitifully ignorant of the history of the Roma people and really learnt a lot. I'd encourage anyone visiting Brno to include this museum on their itinerary.

I visited Roma Culture Museum today and the experience was very pleasant. It gives good overall understanding of Roma history, culture and the issues Roma population has been facing through the centuries.The ticket to the museum costs around 2.20€ and with that price I got an English speaking guide with me. I'd like to point out here that I was alone, not in a group and I got a guide. So he took me through the museum and explained everything, answering patiently to my questions along the way. I've never had such a good service with that price.Highly recommended attraction!

This April there was a Festival of Roma community allowing to enjoy their typical music and dance, admire arts and study history of these people.Most of all I love the room where the mirrors are on walls, floor and even on the ceiling - the message of this desing is - you are also a part of the mankind history and it is your subjective point of view. I like this place very much.

The Roma/Gypsy people exist throughout Europe and historically have been the subject of tremendous persecution and social marginalization since their ancestors first arrived on the continent from the norther reaches of India.Today, there are numerous stereotypes and misconceptions about them that really should be addressed and broken.This museum is a very well organised timeline of Roma cultural history that consists of a six section permanent exhibition hall plus a temporary exhibition hall. The six galleries of the permanent exhibition take you from when the Roma ancestors left India all the way up to the present day. Upon entering the museum, you will get an audio guide which corresponds with 70 or so points throughout the exhibition.Don't let the fact that the museum is located in a rather run down section of the city. It's very much worth going to and I recommend it for both tourists and non-Roma Czechs.

Spring always means hope and chance to live a better life. I believe history can become the magic key able to open many doors – real ones and also the virtual meaning people hearts. Visitors of the Museum of Romani Culture are presented not only old stories of the Romani community, but have a chance to learn much more. I am really happy and proud that both Anthropos and this institution are in Brno – I believe everybody should study life itself, human origin, features that are common and the unique ones too. Guided tour with Kristyna was both informative and enjoyable - many thanks.
