Yes, you could just drive past this and forget about it... but don't! The view from Dalsnibba is beautiful. I drove up on a motorcycle (cruiser) with a passenger and luggage and it's fine, but drive carefully around the bends, this is not for the faint of heart as the road up is steep and bendy.

We went on a coach trip from Geiranger (from our cruise ship) if you are thinking about this trip go! It was one of the most stunning vistas we saw on our whole cruise (which was magnificent). From the top we saw the whole valley in the sun shine (we were lucky because it was their last trip of the summer) on the way down we stopped at pools which had the mountains reflected in them, it made marvellous pictures to look back on later.

Simply the most breathtaking mountain experience you will ever have. Pictures are spectacular but they cannot convey the awesome experience of being there. A truly indescribable view of Norway's Geiranger Fjord. You will have to contend with crowds but there is a reason for that. I highly recommend this for anyone.

The road was narrow and drivers driving up better be good but it was one of the 'charms' of going up to Dalsnibba Mountain Plateau. We got up there to see the view and take memories along with us with the photos we took, but be prepared to compete with hundreds of tourists. Once you found your spot to take photos, you have to be quick about it.

Dalsnibba is a viewpoint that is 1500 meters above sea level. You must drive up a winding, steep series of switchbacks to reach the summit. Once at the top, you will have a fine view in all directions - unless of course, you visit Dalsnibba on a cloudy day. Unfortunately, it was our luck to be on Dalsnibba when thick clouds obstructed most of the views of Geiranger fjord. We did get some glimpses of the famous fjord when the clouds parted, so it wasn't a complete bust, but none of my pictures are as fine as some of the other photos posted here.Dalsnibba is high, you are at an equal elevation with some glaciers to the west. Use your zoom lens and you can nice pictures of the glacial ice. Looking east there are endless mountains marching off to the horizon. The view to the north is the classic view all the way down to Geiranger. It cost us NOK $100 (about $15 US) in admission for our car to enter the private toll road. At the top is a large parking lot, and a shop with restrooms.Lots of people have built mini-cairns by piling rocks on top of each other, so add your own rock pile to the Dalsnibba collection. If it is a cloudy or rainy day, then consider skipping Dalsnibba, because you won't see much of anything - the clouds will be below you or all around you. However, if it is a sunny day with clear skies, then this is a don't miss attraction!

We got a bus via their Tourist Information to see the most spectacular view at Mt. Dalsnibba. The trip had commentary the whole way, it took about 2 1/4 hours, there was a stop on the way for photos and 20 minutes up the top for photos. You also had the option to get off at the top of a small waterfall and walk down to the town which saved us walking up to that waterfall later. The cost was the same as the trip to the waterfall at Eidfjord but so very much better.

It's closed in Oct actually but we didn't know when we were there. We were heading to Geiranger and must arrive before 6pm as promise to the camp owner. But we still decided to drive in for it at about 5pm when seeing the sign. The road is full of excitment with some Z turns. When arriving the top, the wind was so strong that we thought everthing is gone with the wind. We saw a few workers there fixing something under the shop. In the second day when we tried to go there agagin, it was closed at the entrance and we understood how lucky we were the day before.

More then 1500 m and only 15km from the sea level in the fjord- great view and good photo op for the kids. the road up is scary if you drive against the buss traffic and you need to pay toll in the entry. but it all worth when you see the view. don't miss the little souvenir shop

1500 metres and the views are amazing. You can see the fjord and also the glacier ice from here. Small souvenir shop and toilets on site

You definitely want to do this trip. The hairpin turns will have you on the edge of your seat - but it is so worth it. The views are spectacular. I was so thankful that our bus driver was so capable. I could have spent a lot more time at the top.
