Really modern and interesting museum. Very welcoming staff. Museum location is impressive, building itself is awesome.

This centre does a great job of introducing the city of Daugavpils (formerly Dvinsk) to visitors and Mark Rothko's life and works. The building is really beautiful and the art within is well chosen and displayed. While the interactive displays could play in English we found that the staff did not speak any (and our Latvian and Russian are unfortunately very poor). I think we worried the staff by having a child with us, even though she is well trained at not touching art when it's not meant to be. The surrounding fortress is well worth allowing time for. It's really interesting that such a historic place is residential. The restaurant next door was ok for lunch but did not have much for vegetarians.

I was really happy to see this place so nicely renovated. I've been there 7 years ago. Great job done. Very good interior and exhibitions.

Our guide was perfect.I think this was the best place to visit in this town.It took him a lot of patience to guide us through the different rooms and floors.

This place is a must visit if you like art and culture. Renovated building within Daugavpils Fortress, hosts not only Mark Rothko but also other exibitions that are changed every few months. Apart from Rothko paintings, interactive exhibition about history of Daugavpils and insight into Rothko art and life is really good. Full ticket is about 9 EUR, but you can choose to visit only part of building and then it's cheaper.

Wonderful art gallery with some insight into Mark Rotko's life and art, but with significant room for other interesting exhibitions. Top quality! Expect to pay around 10 euros.

В центре депрессивного Даугавпилса, на месте бывшего военного гарнизона, а теперь внимание, всего за 5 миллионов долларов, построили центр современного искусства имени Марка Ротко. Современный, прогрессивный и приятный во всех смыслах, он стал местом притяжения местной интеллегенции и сочувствующих, а также манит остальных со всех регионов Латвии и соседского зарубежья. В наличии правда всего 6 картин Марка и цифровые инсталляции. Другие площадки периодически меняются. Сейчас (с 26.10 по 15.01.2015), к примеру, проходит выставки историка моды Александра Васильева, которую советую посетить также и мужчинам. После пищи интеллектуальной, рекомендую зайти в кафе "Арсенал", что при центре - кухня и цены радуют.

友達がラトビアの首都リガから電車で4時間程離れた、ダウガフピルスに留学しているとのことで、訪問。初のバルト三国の訪問とのことで、どんな場所だろうと興奮しました。予想していた通りソ連を彷彿させるような街並み、だが住民はバルト3国に誇りを持っている様。ダウガフピルスはかなり田舎で、保養地として現地の人は活用しており、協会、美術館等は多くあった。レストラン等、娯楽施設は少なく本当に家族里帰りで過ごすような場所。しかしリトアニアの首都ビルニュスにも近く、電車で3～4時間程で日帰りでも行け、またベラルーシへも簡単に電車で行けるので、そういった意味ではすごくいい都市であった。（ベラルーシに関してはビザが必要）

Замечательно и интересно. Картины и работы великого Ротко навсегда останутся в моем сердце. Хорошее кафе в этом центре. Вкусные отбивные с салатиком в латышском национальном стиле.
