Wonderful tour in the wildest part of this amazing island (in my opinion the best of Egadi ), with great pics opportunities.Try to avoid in a windy day, in order to be able to visit all the caves, with their rock formations.

We spent all morning hiiking Marettimo's wonderfully rugged terrain. This is some of the most spectacular Mediterranean hiking I have done. Beautiful, unspoilt landscape, tremendous views and nice challenging inclines! When you have done that, it is very refreshing to take a boat, see some grottoes and have a swim in a beautiful, isolated cove. Nothing quite like it for poor, tired legs.

Marettimo is easy to reach from Trapani. It is more wild and distant that the other Egadi Islands, and feels more wild and undeveloped. It has hidden beaches and coves, large pine forests and some of the best tomatoes i have ever tasted!! If you like to get away from it all this is the place to visit. Enjoy!

you cannot go to Marettimo and miss the chance to see one of the most beautiful marvels of the Mediterranean!! Take a swim in the "Grotte", where it is allowed, this will be an unforgettable experience!!

One afternoon while staying on the island of Favignana, I took a ferry to Marettimo, I hired a fisherman to take me around the island. We took is small boat and went all the way around the island, along the coast. The pictures say it all. The small boat was able to go into the caves. Spectacular!!!! I spent about 2 hours after the boat ride walking around the town and having a cup of Gelato at one of the bars. You dont need much more time than that because the town is very small. There is a bar that is near the Porto that is quite fun! I went in there to have a beer while I was waiting for the ferry to pick me up for my return to Favignana.

L'isola di Hiera (Marettimo) ha un fascino tutto particolare che mi ha stregato tanti anni fa tanto da farmi sentire il bisogno di tornarci ogni anno.Tutto sembra trovarsi in una dimensione tutta sua in cui è stupendo lasciarsi trasportare.Una delle esperienze più belle che consiglio ad ogni turista è la Visita alle Grotte con le barche dei pescatori che ti accompagnano nel periplo dell'isola mostrandoti meravigliosi angoli di paradiso mentre ti raccontano vecchie storie di mare, di marettimari e dell'Isola più bella del mondo.

Conosco quasi tutte le isole siciliane, ma di tutte certamente Marettimo è quella che a mio avviso rappresenta di più la mia personalità. Isola per chi ama il mare vero, pochi fronzoli, niente spiagge, solo mare, quello vero, fatto di rocce, fondali da sogno, correnti e mare... Tanto mare. Splendide le innumerevoli grotte di cui l'isola è ricchissima, sia sopra che sotto la superficie del mare. Meta immancabile per veri sub, ma preparatevi a immersioni tecniche, belle, ma a volte difficili....

Impossibile andare in Sicilia e non visitare l'isola di Marettimo .. Abbiamo conosciuto un pescatore che ci ha portato a fare il giro dell'isola ci ha fatto pescare ci ha fatto fare il bagno nelle grotte e in più con il pescato lo ha sfilettato e marinato...... Uno spettacolo bello splendore. Consiglio anche con bambini
