The more you know about Verdi, Strepponi and their life, the more you will appreciate this wonderful place. So many interesting things eg Verdi's short bed, not because he was short, but because he never slept lying down; he slept sitting up supported by pillows. Lying down was for the dead. Interesting to see Lohengrin and Meistersingers amongst his vocal scores. Fascinating is the fact that the hotel room in the Grand Hotel Milan where Verdi died has been transported here. HELPFUL TIP The gardens are lovely but take mosquito repellent as you get bitten to bits around the lake! Disappointing was the fact that the tour didn't include the drawing room or the billiard room where Verdi loved to spend his time. Disappointing also was the unhelpful attitude of the guides. They wanted us to wait over half an hour and then do the tour of the house with a large coach party! Since the tour takes around 40 minutes and we had about 35, I insisted we did one immediately, which they eventually agreed, but begrudgingly. Just as well because the coach party arrived a bit late, full of people advanced in years so it would have taken forever and there were so many we would have had problems fitting into some of the rooms. I was especially annoyed since I had rung a week in advance to book the tour, and they said there was no problem unless I was part of a large group. The guides must understand that we come a long way to make this pilgrimage and shouldn't fob us off with their lazy-itis. Outrageous to expect us to wait for a large coach party. What were they thinking? Fortunately I was very well informed before I got there so I didn't let her ruin it for me. Ignoring those negative points it is the experience of a lifetime which I shall keep with me forever.

A very special place for any Verdi enthusiast. You feel as if you have gone back to the time when the Maestro and his wife lived here. Many interesting pieces of furniture, pianos, paintings, posters, prints, musical scores, books and memorabilia in every room. Particularly amusing was the portrait of GIuseppina's dog Lulu (who is buried in the back yard). The surrounding gardens are lovely and peaceful. There is a grotto and several lovely little lakes. We had a wonderful guide, although she could only give the tour in Italian. Still taking a trip here is well worth it to understand Verdi as a lover of nature and of the land.

Vale a pena conhecer esta residência onde Giusseppe Verdi viveu por mais de 50 anos e dedicou sua vida a compor e cuidar deste belíssimo lugar.Você pode apreciar os objetos que pertenceram a ele e a sua esposa, inclusive seu belo piano!!!

Il parcheggio ( dove si trovano anche dei bagni) è lontano e lungo la strada, stretta, con ai lati il fango, non c'è il marciapiede. Biglietto: nove euro gli adulti, gratis i bambini. Esiste una convenzione con museo Barezzi ma non con la casa di Roncole.mah! I ragazzi della biglietteria gentiissimi si offrono di spiegarci brevemente le prime due stanze in modo da poter raggiugere la guida che è già partita e non dover attendere il prossimo turno. Vediamo le due camere da letto del maestro e di Giuseppina, il guardaroba, una piccola stanza con documenti e cimieli vari, la ricostruzione della camerea dell'hotel Milan in cui è morto e ...fine. Il tour della villa è terminato! Un po' breve a mio parere. Il parco è molto bello ma il clima impietoso ci obbliga a un giro veloce. Passando si può guardare la cappella ( unpo' spoglia ) e un ambiente con sei , sette interessanti carrozze . Fine! Il bookshop veramente striminzito e caruccio. La guida molto gentile.

Tra tutti è il luogo verdiano dove si avverte di più la presenza del "Cigno". Abitazione privata della famiglia erede del maestro, in un luogo isolato lontano da tutto, ma facilmente raggiungibile. Arredi e cimeli del nostro straordinario concittadino, visti con una guida molto appassionata, conservano il sapore del loro tempo ed il valore di chi li ha posseduti. Magnifico il giardino per estensione e varietà di piante, affascinante con i colori e la luce radente del pomeriggio d'autunno.

A soli 3 km a nord di Busseto si trova la bella villa di Verdi, situato in un giardino botanico progettato e sviluppato da Verdi. Molti interessante appartengono del grande compositore tra cui una recensione molto mista da lui di Lohengrin di Wagner.

Von den Städten, die man rund um Busseto auf den Spuren Verdis besuchen kann, erschien uns die Villa Verdis am ehesten authentisch. Die Führung umfasst neben dem durchaus sehr interessanten Garten (Gartenfreunde und Dendrologen kommen auf ihre Kosten) leider nur vier Räume, von denen zwei der historischen Ausstattung entsprechen. Der Eintrittspreis ist dafür recht hoch, doch möchte für den Besuch hier nicht missen.

La casa di Verdi, anche se abitata dagli eredi, è stata possibile visitarla - la guida è stata molto esauriente spiegandoci ogni minimo particolare - gli arredi sono rimasti intatti come ai tempi del Maestro e della Strepponi - inoltre Verdi era un appassionato agricoltore e si vedono ancora i sui scritti con il fattore per gli acquisti inerenti alla fattoria - il parco è bellissimo con piante esotiche - le carrozze e la ghiacciaia - bellissima da vedere -

Wie Verdi gewohnt hat, kann man hier gut sehen. Allerdings beschränken sich die Führungen auf wenige Zimmer. Ander hochinteressante Räume und der traumhafte Garten werden meist ausgespart. Die Führungen werden eher lustlos abgespult. Trotzdem: selbst vorher informieren und dann live erleben!
