This is the centre piece of this historic city. An amazing cathedral with a museum next to it that has been restored so well. In fact the museum is the first place to visit and then the cathedral.

This is a very interesting church with lots of history. It stores many of the ancient versions of the banners of the Palio's of each year. It has some wonderful frescos and is a very active church that is a pleasant place to take rest.

In the historic center of Asti, this is a beautiful, early middle age gothic cathedral worth visiting.

We visited on a Sunday, not the best idea possibly as there was a full service in progress and we couldn't go in. We did sit in the piazza outside the cathedral for a while and listen to the music coming from inside and try to work out how the sundial on the wall actually worked. I agree with the previous review, Asti is not the best place to visit, we were hugely disappointed with it. Alba is much better !

This Roman style church is maybe not very showy or spectacular comparing to other Italian places of historical sites, although it has its unique beauty. It is situated in the Old Town, but is hidden on a calm street among other old buildings. This peace and quiet atmosphere enhances to contemplate the perfection of medieval architects and builders who did their jobs equipped only with plain tools. In my opinion the cathedral presents best in late afternoon sun, when the warm light brightens the red bricks.

By Italian standards this is a provincial and uninteresting cathedral as is Asti as a whole. Not worth going out of your way.

Sono 30 anni che vado per lavoro ad Asti e non avevo mai avuto tempo di visitare la citta.Ieri sera in giro non per lavoro ho scoperto un'Asti storica bellissima, tra cui la Cattedrale veramente maestosa.Mi sono ripromesso di tornare per una visita piu' approfondita.

Abbiamo visitato la Cattedrale di Asti e devo dire che ci è piaciuta molto. Non pensavamo che Asti aveva una cattedrale così bella. Molto belli i suoi dipinti, il mosaico presso l'altare e le sue maestose colonne.

Enorme! Già è stupefacente per le dimensioni ma, anche gli interni, completamente decorati ed affrescati (simpatiche le colonne decorate con tralci di vigna!) lasciano senza parole. Bellissime anche le grandi statue di terracotta del 1500.

Lei come tutto il quartiere circostante. un bel posto dove passeggiare o dove sedersi sui gradino agli angoli dei portoni per godersi qualche raggio di sole
