During a very windy day when Breuil-Cervinia was closed due to strong winds we went skiing in Torgnon. The ski system is based on three chairlifts and a cable car but it serves the ski area very well. The skiing is not to advanced but it consists of a couple of red runs just as well as some blue and green. There is a nice kids area and the place should be perfec for a family that wants to spend a few days skiing in Aosta. Skipass prices are pretty low compared to Cervinia as well.

We loved empty spaces and no queu for ski activities, but after ski is really to improve as find an open restaurant wasn' t so easy. Local tourist office opens for really short time and probably this doesn't help organize a great stay. It's easy to rent all kind of ski equipement and I highly reccomend 'Le verdze'" chalet as "foyer de ski", take an hot chocolate or have lunch/dinner in a quiet place surrounded by nature.

Great for families with small children as they have a play area with lots of climb on ride on things. Great for teenagers as they have a great Snow park with large well maintained ramps, slide and bars.Great, well groomed slopes, reds, blues and a couple of blacks. No queues at lifts, a quiet resort during weekdays, a bit busier at weekend but still nowhere near jammed with skiers.Lovely friendly people, great mountain restaurants, a brilliant hotel called The Zerbion with great hospitality and very tasty plentiful food, as well as very nice comfortable rooms.

At first I was shocked how small of a place Torgnon is, there really isn't too much to see, no restaurants to mention, no after ski, no shops except a grocery store and two small gift shops. During weekdays there was hardly anyone anywhere. BUT, these details actually turned out to be very positive things, weekdays there was very much space in the slopes, which are fairly small, but quite sufficient for kids and non hard core skiers (30 mins to by car to Valtournenche which is connected to Breuil and Zermatt, which is huge sking area. We did that too but slopes are too big for kids and all prices +20% to Tourgnon, where sking actually is cheap, 60eur weekdays for our family per day. Also very loud and unrelaxing, compared to Torgnon where it's easy going. Durong weekend it gets busy, like everywhere. Torgnon is also very italian resort, we barely heard anyone speaking any other language than Italian. We ate mainly at the Hotel Panoramique where we stayed (because it was good and there's not really too much to choose from). One eve dinner at Breuil, which is more like Playa de las Americas, the winter version and one at Caprice des Neiges. So all in all, we enjoyed our 5 day stay at Torgnon, relaxing, kids liked it a lot, and we as parents kinda hoped for more entertainment, but after all maybe it was better this way. All the best for Torgnon in the future! ( by the way, service was very pleasant and friendly, which might not always be the case in Italy)

Torgnon is a small, family friendly village that is perfect for family skiing especially families with small children who are learning to ski. The village itself is full of help. The hotels are very hospitable to children and can not do enough for them - the Italian family way. The food is excellent, especially in Hotel Zerbion where we ate local produce and traditional foods. The pricing is very reasonable, so much, that we will return this Winter to ski again with the children at a very good ski school. It's a fantastic way to break in the new ski season.

The most amazing quiet ski resort for familys and beginners. With a micro climate it quite often is bathed in sun when other resorts are in cloud.

This place is recommended in case Cervinia is closed due to windy weather. The altitude is lower, and most of it is quite sunny. It's also ~10 deg cel, higher than Cervinia :)

Small but good area with cable car lift and chair lifts. Suitable for beginners and experts. You can spend nice skiing day here while Cervinia lifts are closed because of strong wind

Skiing in Torgnon is nice because there isn't the crowd and the "stress" of the big ski stations. It is facing south, which can be an advantage (it is usually warm and not icy) and a disadvantage (snow melts early and the powder transforms fast). The food is great in almost all bars around the slopes and the services for the kids are just great! Easy slopes for them with tons of fun trails in the woods. A nice winter park and easy access to everything. The village itslef is not nice. There is no real "center" or the typical atmosphere of the little villages of Valle d'Aosta. Also the quality of hotels and restaurants is mediocre. Nevertheless it is a nice and happy place, and this is what counts.
