This museum is a Great place to visit if you love scoters there are loads to see from the early days to how they are now . You can learn the history from displays and from videos and is free to get in . It's very accessible from the train station only a 5 minute walk and the town is perfect for a wander and some lunch after your visit. Definitely worth a trip for any sccoter enthusiast.

Nice to go and spend a couple of hours looking at the history of Vespa, Ape and Piaggio, they also have some other great examples and some very unusual ones, nice to wander round.

It's free! :) If you are a VESPA's liver it's really good to see all those motorcycle cars and artistic things... It's a small place, but good to visit if it's a rainy day, the amendment was nice.

My husband is a keen vintage scooter enthusiast, so we called into the Piaggio museum on the way back to pissa airport for our flight home.Unfortunately, we arrived 15 mins before lunch hour ( 1 -2pm), as the very rude woman at the museum told us loudly, we asked if we could have a quick look around before 1pm, and she begrudgingly agreed..no where to leave our suitcases... the museum itself was nicely set out, and we managed to get a few photos before the incredibly rude woman showed up and informed us to leave now! I appreciate she wanted her lunch.( and mabey working in the nhs for over 20 years and hardly ever getting a lunch break...she has the right idea!!)..but I feel she didn't have to be so obnoxious about It, if she had been a bit more pleasent we probly would have had a snack and gone back after lunch, but quite frankly she was a very poor front of house person for the museum, so we continued our travel to the airport. Shame, because from what we saw it looked like an interesting place...

A great place to see all the style and beauty created by Piaggio over the years. MOD's and enthusiasts will love it. Best of all, it's free in :)

A part of Italian history together in one museum, nice place if you like Vespa's. There are a lot of special Vespa. The museum also includes a small art exhibition. Its free of charge and free parking.

I visited this museum as part of course in a study abroad program. Great and interesting little museum - a fine afternoon.Would I stop to visit again - yes - if I was nearby. Unless you are big fan of Vespas or machinery I would only visit if I were nearby.Still - very interesting - and easy access from the train station (about a 3 block walk). The museum is in Pontedera and it was not clear that there was much to see or do in Pontedera.

The Piaggio Museum was created to preserve and highlight the work of the company with more than 100 models between motors, vehicles and mechanical parts. The entry in the museum is free and you should book a visit only for Mondays because during the other days it isn't necessary. It is required to reserve a visit if you want to have a guide. The staff of the museum is polite, patient and helpful. The guides explain the history of the museum and of the company in the details very well. In my opinion the best thing to see in the museum is the Vespa collection and I liked very much, but I didn't like the mechanical parts. In the museum there is a book shop that is open every day from 9:00 to 13:30 and from 14:30 to 18:00.When you visit the Piaggio Museum don't miss to buy a souvenir book. The best thing is to reserve a guided tour.

If you like Vespa, you need to visit this museum. Perfect for those rainy holiday days. It has many different models and a very nice gift shop.

When I first reviewed this museum I really thought it was wonderful, however I now have two major gripes - signage to find it has got worse and needs to be improved as Pontedera has quite a confusing road system. I would rather pay a little bit of money to see the musuem and have better signage. Secondly our latest visit was completely ruined by the attitude of a staff member. My two teenage girls were sitting in the car (the little blue one pictured for the museum) when she came striding over and very rudely told them they weren't allowed to touch anything. There are no signs to this effect and, on our last visit, lots of people were sitting in the car and taking photographs. She then strode back to her office on the floor above and stayed at the window scowling down on the visitors. Hardly a good representative for Piaggio, I don't think we will return to this musuem.
