We visited Barbana island on an August afternoon because we saw the beautiful church towers from a distance. We had a bit difficulty to find the regular boat to the island. The signs are not so clear next to the road, so pls be aware. The boat starts from next to a white bridge (bridge leads to a small island, part of Grado). The boat trip took appr 20mims, nice environment of the laguna: we saw lots of birds and the sea was quiet. The Barbana island itself is small and very quiet. The church is nice. There is one interesting feature in it and these are the hand-made testimonials of people who were saved with the help of Mary. These paintings, description and the silver thank-you hearts are really nice and very unusual. It was a good afternoon outing for us, no regrets....

I visited here with my family and I am so glad that we did. The island is a beautiful oasis in the busyness of life, it is an especially lovely place to visit on a hot day as the breeze from the water is delightful.The onsite cafe and restaurant both provide lovely places to stop and refresh yourself. The church is an amazing place to visit and think.If you are in Grado make the trip across to Barbana.

About 500 meters from Hotel Savoy lies a little white shack where you can buy your day ticket for the boat to the Barbana Island. It's a very reasonable price at 6 euros and make sure you get a seat either at the front on top or bottom. As this is a rise in the Laguna it is very calm and even if you easily get sea sick I can't imagine this would be a challenging ride. You reach the tiny island within 20 mns and have a very pretty view of the monastery and the church as you pull up. We travelled on the "Champagne" boat which was very pleasant. Depending on when you go boats are every hour except during lunch time. We left at 12 noon and returned on the 2.30pm. If you want to enter the church make sure you cover your arms and legs. It is disrespectful to enter I a tank top and shorts. There a very modern and clean bathroom facility, and a quaint cafe which serves lunch, coffee, some snacks and basic wine/beer. As this island is primarily seen as protected by the Virgin Mary, the gift shop offers angels, rosaries and other such knick Knacks. This is an easy and peaceful outing with no physical strains it difficulties.

Gita in battello per raggiungere l'isola .. Tragitto breve ma carino, una volta approdati qui si scende e si fa una passeggiata verso la chiesetta in cui ci sono un sacco di dediche di persone devote e storie raccontate.. Molto toccante, poi si può passeggiare un pochino per il parco e si rientra: in 1 ora si conclude la visita.

L'isola di Barbana è ben visibile arrivando dalla strada translagunare Aquileia Grado. Partendo da Grado, dal Canale della Schiusa, con un breve tragitto in barca, circa 20 minuti, si arriva sullaisoletta che è un'oasi verde. Noi ci siamo stati alla fine di Ottobre la pace ed il silenzio regnavano sovrani. Il santuario restaurato nel 1926 è molto bello con tantissimi quadri per grazia ricevuta davvero singolari. La Madonna avrebbe salvato il paese dalla peste ed i gradesi la festeggianola prima domenica di Luglio con una processione via mare. Ci siamo fermati circa 3 ore edè stata una pausa rigenerante.

Come ogni anno mi reco al Santuario sull'isola di Barbana, quest'anno 8 settembre era la festa della Madonnina un via vai di motonavi motoscafi e natanti vari. Arrivati, la chiesa era stracolma di fedeli una messa davvero solenne. Ci sono un'infinità di Per Grazie Ricevute interessanti. Visitato il tempietto, acquistato souvenir vari e scritto cartoline, una puntatina al caffè e ritorno. Un pomeriggio davvero fuori dal comune soddisfatta ritornerò.

Isola piccola ma molto carina. Interessante il breve giro in barca attraverso la laguna con la possibilità di vedere aironi, cigni, svassi... Bella la chiesa. Ottima la mensa del pellegrino con prezzi più che onesti e porzioni molto abbondanti.

Wir wählten eine Lagunenrundfahrt um einen Überblick über Grado und Umgebung zu erhalten.Das Boot mit deutsch sprechender Reiseleitung tuckert gemütlich durch die Lagune östlich von Grado und macht auch auf der Insel Brabana halt. Zeit genug für einen Besuch in der Basilika und einen Kaffee in der Bar.
