If you are in the area of Lake Garda, a visit to the Santuario is a must. Ideally situated on the side of a mountain with spectacular views. We made our way there with the local buses and there is also a shuttle bus that takes you down to the sanctuary and back up. Spiazzi is a quaint little village and while waiting for the bus for our return journey we tasted some local home made sweets very similar to apple strudel. Delicious!

Madonna della Corona is a side trip from Lago di Garda that everyone should experience. Walk the hundreds of stairs down and follow the Stations of Cross. When you arrive to the church, there are many steps that lead up to it. Not sure if it is handicapped accessible. I believe so. The church is so unique with one of the walls being the actual mountain. There is overnight accommodations at the top also. One of the favorite places to visit in Italy for many of my friends and myself.

We have been visiting this sanctuary some years ago, and found time to travel up into the mountains again. And the location is spetacular. If you travel up on Sundays, please note that a lot of local Ilalians will also go, so avoid Sunday visits. However, find a parking place could be a challenge (we had to park along the road), and they you decend down the trail towards the church. It is a demanding walk!! You can also take a less challenging road walk, or even the little bus from the plaza. Price 2€pp.But save the money for going back! Please notice, that bare shoulders will not be accepted, so bring a short sleved something with you. Please also note, that service/mass may be ongoing, hence keep a leash in running kids! Remember to go down and see the mumies of the old muncks. The place is extraordinary and the view is stunning!

I have visited twice this sanctuary, which I found really unique and beautiful. The position is extraordinary, just on the side of the rock, between the sky and the earth. The path leading to it recalls the episodes of Jesus' life and helps people to meditate upon it. The sanctuary is a perfect place for prayer and meditation.Recommended to everyone, definitely worthwhile.

the visit of this place just made my day. The weather was not nice, it rained now and then, but therefore there weren`t many people, it was quiet.Ther are around 200 and smth. steps going down and afterwards also going up... But it was worthwhile. I must admit I am not really religous, but it is defenitely a place of silence and meditaion if there is no crowd around, which is not the case at weekends, I was told.

We had the perfect day from Verona, it was easy as to get there by bus and then we walked the 10 minute walk but by road as by road you get the trail of gesu. It was all beautiful and thought provoking as to build such a Santuario in a cliff like this must have been such a task.We decided to walk an hour or so perhaps two to the bus stop and it was wonderful as we were spoilt by fresh fruit along the road... YUM!This is a wonder of a place and take the time to just enjoy... rug up in cooler weather, but wear layer, the sun up there is bliss.

the monastery location is very impressive. you get there by ~200 steps going down and climbing back up. You can also walk on the road but i think the steps are nicer.we continues a bit down below the monastery, trying to see it from the close by cliff, but there are many trees near the trail which hide it. would have been nice if they can cut some of the leafs there. All in all - worth the visit

For those who are more religious and like to take a nature walk,i highly reccomend "Madonna della Corona".The Shrine of the Corona is a place of silence and meditation, extended between heaven and earth, hidden in the heart of the Baldo rocks. There are many sculptures in the Shire, the majority of which, in white Carrara marble, are by the sculptor Ugo Zannoni from Verona. "Santuario Madonna della Corona" is situated mid-rock face, at 700 metres, completely excavated in the living rock that falls perpendicular for 400 metres. The walls on the left and the apse are made of the rock itself. The Sanctuary is devoted to "Our Lady of Sorrows", but it is familiarly called "Of the Crown-Della Corona" because of the characteristic rock shape that surround it.

Located in the volcanic hills south of Padova this working Santuario is a nice visit after a work or ride in the hills.

A beautiful tranquil place - the church is carved out of the rock and sits high up the cliffside. Amazing views. You can get a bus down if you find the walk too steep, or maybe walk down and bus back up. The bus ride is excellent, with the bus winding down the roads very close to the cliff edge!
