From the parking lot you can take a shuttle (jeep) that takes you up and down (or only up and you can walk down). From the stop on top of the hill you have to walk uphill for a while (in a easy path), after this first climb is mostly plain walk. On the top you get a very very nice view of the mountains and also you can see the trinches! The only downside we had was the driver on our way that was in a bad mood and very rude (a italian guy on his 60's), but besides this minor detail it's a nice thing to do.

Such an amazing place to visit and to think soldiers had to endure these conditions is incredible. We went in winter (Feb) and although you obviously cannot see the trenches etc, it's an amazing place to snowshoe around and the tops of the signs sticking through the snow let you know where the buildings and trenches/machine gun position are. The views are breathtaking on a clear day and when we were there we only saw 2 other people in the whole place. We snowshoed across the saddle between the 2 main fighting areas and returned to the refuge at the end of our visit.An amazing thing is that you can rent toboggans at the foot of the mountain from the hut and then be taken up by snowcat to the top (with the toboggans in the back. Once you have trekked around the top of the mountain, you can slide all the way back down to the hut (about 1000 meters I think) on the snowy track and return the toboggans - that was a special thing to do - just watch out for those tight corners - you do not want to slide off the track!

This is something you have to do if you are in the area. Be it on foot (one hour and a half ascension) or using the Land Rover shuttle service. Besides of the panorama, it is pretty impressing to be standing on the front line of the Italians or the Austro-Hungarians: it was a massacre, in bitter weather, hunger and unbelievable psychological conditions. The fights were not only on the ground (meaning in the valleys) but on mountain top trenches like here. It sends shivers down your spine!

Bellissimo il panorama dalla croce di Dobbiaco. ..la cima....arrivi in jeep al rif Bosi e poi inizia l avventura a piedi tra trincee e gallerie monumenti e reperti....la storia della prima guerra mondiale la respiri tutta....

Colle panoramico e ricco di storia. Una gita da fare. La montagna è un ampio prato a circa 2.000m che durante la guerra era diviso tra i contendenti Italiani e Austro-Ungarici. Pertanto tutta la superficie è solcata da un reticolo di trincee ancora visibili. Migliaia furono i morti nelle battaglie su questo colle che era il punto più avanzato dello schieramento italiano uno dei pochi che vedeva il tricolore in una posizione di vantaggio rispetto ai nemici. Il panorama è splendido: tre cime di Lavaredo, lago di Misurina, Tofane, la val Di Landro,...Volendo se pratici si possono fare le ferrate sui bordi dell'altropiano, altrimenti un servizio taxi vi può portare attaverso la vecchia strada militare fino al rifugio da cui brevemente di raggiunge la zona delle trincee.

Si parte dal lago di misurina, a piedi o usufruendo della navetta con le jeep.Sul monte piana ottima vista a 360° e passeggiata con poco dislivello per arrivare alle trincee della prima guerra mondiale.

Vale la pena di fare una gita fino alla cima, per chi fa più fatica e' possibile usufruire di un servizio di auto a noleggio, bella e panoramica anche la vecchia strada che porta in vetta anche se alcuni punti sono parecchio dissestati ma comunque percorribili in sicurezza. Piccolo museo al rifugio da cui partono sentieri ed una piccola ma panoramica ferrata che consente di vedere i resti di una zona che è' stata lo scenario sanguinoso di una delle pagine più tristi e dolorose della prima guerra mondiale

Punto di grande interesse storico,con un Panorama Mozzafiato, ma quello e' relativo ,molto interessante per quello che riguarda le trincee, Gallerie , camminamenti della Prima Guerra Mondiale

Sehr geschichtsträchtig, aber anstrengende Tour. die Fahrt mit dem Jeep ist ein Erlebnis, der Rundgang dauert ca. 4-5 Stunden, wenn man sich alles in Ruhe anschauen will.

Bellissima camminata, d'estate si possono noleggiare le jeep per farsi condurre al Rifugio Bosi da dove partono i sentieri del Museo all'aperto. Uno spettacolo scenografico assoluto fra la Croda Rossa, le Tre Cime di Lavaredo e il Piz Popena. Emozionanti i panorami, uniti alla commozione di visitare i luoghi e le trincee dove fu combattuta una delle più aspre, lunghe (27 mesi) e inutili battaglie della prima guerra mondiale. Da visitare assolutamente in religioso silenzio.
