One of the most beautiful structures along the scenic Amalfi coast. The church is free to tour. After touring get some gelato, sit atop the church steps and take in the square below. It gets busy during high tourist season and later in the day. We didn't take the offered tour, we just used our guide book and did it ourselves.

Climb the stairs up from the square for the cool sanctuary of the Duomo. The museum must not be missed. Get there early to avoid the crowds in summer who arrive in waves by boat.

The Duomo is the big attraction with it's many steps and mosaics. You get a good view of the square from the top and it is cooler. The church is free but we paid for the tour of the crypt area of St. Andrew. (6 euros) and well worth it. The art and artifacts were amazing. We love taking photos and they were allowed without a flash. Check the timing .. the church is closed in off peak hours. It is always open in the early morning. Try to avoid touring when the ships come in... the square is really crowded then. There are free washrooms at the top of the stairs on the left hand side as you face the cathedral.

The Duomo di Sant'Andrea Apostolo was absolutely breath taking. It was a beautiful and historical site and my family and I felt blessed to be able to see this Cathedral.

We enjoyed just visiting the church and did not go to the associated museum. There is no charge to visit the church. The steps are many - but worth it once you are inside. There were beautiful mosaics throughout the church. It also has a magnificent ceiling and is quite striking.

First of all, the highlight is in the basement at the end of the tour. This is where they have displayed the bones of the saint and the decor is amazing, especially the ceilings! If you are handicapped, there is one elevator to the right of the long outdoor staircase. Not sure how you would be able to navigate inside, though. There is a cost to get in, buy your tickets by climbing long outdoor staircase and go to the left to get the tickets. Used to be about 5 euros. Then you tour some really old stone relics in an outdoor garden, then enter the main Santuary and last, go down to the elaborate basement. Going inside can be done in about 30 min if the line is not long, but safer to count on an hour to visit the entire church. Really fun to catch a wedding here, with many brides getting photos on the impressive staircase in front! Afterwards, lots of cute souvenir and gelato shops are nearby. Think about lemonito products for gifts!

Great place to visit, the duomo is architecturally sound making it an amazing place for photographers. And although it is a torist attraction, even during the peaks of summer, it is not that busy. It is definitely worth the entrance fee
