The caves are gorgeous and the restaurant has amazing food. It's run by Michele Iorio and his family who are rightly proud of their excellent local cuisine and culture. After a delicious lunch Michele took us to the lovely small museum of peasant life in a beautiful tower in the village of Castelcivita. A must side trip from Paestum. Don't miss it.

It is worth spending some time exploring and doing the longer tour.But even the tourist route is breathtaking. Make sure to arrive early as you might get a private tour with the tourguide.

Guided tour deep into the mountain to look at the caves and their stalactites and stalagmites. Very well organised with concrete pathway all the way through the cave system. Amazing wonder of nature well lit and dramatic. The tour is in italian but we were given a guide book in English. Check the times of the tours so that you don't have to wait around. We combined this with a trek up the calare gorge from just out of Filleto and it made a very interesting day. The 10 euro charge to the caves and tour is quite steep if you are a family for 4 or more.

It's a little bit difficult to find when relying on road signs, but well worth it once found! There isn't a great deal of parking outside the entrance. The caves themselves are spectacular, and the guide was excellent. Outside there is a bar with snacks, and a restaurant, and toilets. The tour itself takes around 40 minutes to an hour.

Le grotte sono molto belle e sicuramente da visitare. La visita guidata invece lascia un po' a desiderare, ho avuto l'impressione che chi la conducesse non avesse competenze in ambito naturalistico o geologico ma recitasse un po' un copione.

Ad una famiglia belga in vacanza nel Cilento, ho consigliato di visitare le grotte di Castelcivita, ma al telefono mi è stato risposto che l'ultimo ingresso alle grotte era alle ore 12,00. Per i miei ospiti era impossibile raggiungere il sito per quell'orario, ma dall'ufficio mi hanno assicurato che avrebbero effettuato un'apertura pomeridiana per la loro visita.I miei ospiti sono restati ammirati non solo per la bellezza delle grotte,("spettacolari", le hanno definite), ma anche per la gentilezza, la disponibilità e la competenza del personale pronto a soddisfare le esigenze dei visitatori e a guidarli nel percorso. Una gestione esemplare del patrimonio del Cilento, un Cilento che ci fa onore e ci piace molto, anzi moltissimo. Grazie!!!!

meno famose di quelle di pertosa ma non meno belle.facilmente raggiungibili con bella passeggiata all'interno del cilento.da visitare senza indugio

Un luogo molto suggestivo, che ci ha lasciati carichi di meraviglia. Una guida appassionata e molto gentile ci ha accompagnato in questo percorso dove tutto sembra perdersi (o trattenersi) fuori dal tempo. E' indicato per le famiglie, portateci i bimbi!!! Alla fine della visita ci siamo fermati a pranzare al punto ristoro accanto alla biglietteria, non potevamo scegliere di meglio, piatti tipici con prodotti genuini. Complimenti a Giovanna e Felice. Lo consiglio!

Che dire le grotte tolgono il fiato uno spettacolo della natura inenarrabile... Poi le ho viste anche con lo spettacolo dell'Inferno di Dante e davvero lo consiglio a tutti.
