It takes a lot of time to climb and it is just a lake anyways, nothing special about it. If you have a lot of time, you can try, otherwise you do not miss a lot to skip it.

I've ridden this three times now and have never been dissappointed. Because the road doesn't lead anywhere, it remains quiet, which makes it an enjoyable ascent and a great descent. Good cafe by the lake.

From Bormio, this is a nice short ride but with a great height gain to over 2000m. You go through Premadio and begin the climb up to a picnic area, and that where the sight hits you straight ahead.The switchbacks are just piled on top of each other!It's certainly worth climb up to Torre di Fraele, and then there's a descent on an unmade road to the café overlooking the Lago di Cancano. We road this road when it was wet, and your bike certainly gets covered. However, because of the amount of water on the road on the descent back to Premadio, the bikes soon got cleaned.

Un posto fantastico a 25 minuti da Bormio, siamo saliti agevolmente in macchina lungo i tornanti fino ai 1950 msl dove ti accoglie un mare di neve e il panorama dei laghi nascosti sotto la coltre bianca. Abbiamo incontrato un ristorante e un paio di rifugi, tutti chiusi. Un peccato perché permetterebbero di godersi di più l'area (magari con un noleggio ciaspole) però è anche vero che con un metro di neve, se vuoi goderti silenzio pace e bellezza, quello che ci vuole è un posto deserto. Passateci e godetevi anche la vista dalle torri di fraele!

I laghi di Cancano sono sempre emozionanti. Fa un po freddino, anche ad agosto e soprattutto quest'anno. Meritano sempre per la sensazione di pace e serenità che sanno donare. Da qualsiasi posizione li si osservi le montagne vi si specchiano creando suggestivi scenari. Unica nota negativa. quest'estate non era possibile raggiungerli in macchina ma era necessario fermarsi un po prima (dove si possono noleggiare le bici) e prendere il bus navetta. Per noi negativo perché abbiamo 3 bambini e ci piaceva camminare intorno al lago e poi fare un bel picnic. Il bus è un po scomodo, ci sono gli orari e i bambini si spazientiscono.

Это очень красивое место для дневного похода. Есть прекрасное озеро. Летом должно быть там просто замечательно ( зимой озеро было засыпано снегом). Но нам повезло с погодой: яркое солнце и голубое небо.
