A beautiful place to spend a one-day trip from Milan. The Duomo is very nice and the Teodolinda's Chapel are wonderful. A little bit too complicated the reservation to see the Chapel...

Nice medieval Duomo in the centre of Monza, quite stunning, and a nice visit. One of the few Duomo's that is not symmetric (hint, count the arches), and also has a weird facade (hint-2 walk and see it from the side).Worth the visit for sure.

Here for the F1 weekend, couldn't resist visiting the Duomo. It's a must for us when traveling. Even though it is beautiful without doubt, it seems a bit disconnected. It's off to one side with a fairly large piazza but no benches to sit and soak in the beauty.

Had the chance to visit Monza centre. I headed to the Monza Duomo and I was in for a nice surprise... On the outside, it is nowhere near the Milan Duomo. Still it is a nice facade. On the inside, although smaller in size, I found it nicer than the Milan Duomo with all the lovely paintings ! Do find time to visit . It has a free entrance and I am sure that you will love it. Just keep your voice down as this still remains a house of worship and you might be hushed up by the parishers.

When you look at the facade of this Duomo you don`t want to leave until you have absorbed all the details. Its a false facade so to say as the pictures show but what a great piece of art. The Interior is so richly decorated and absorbing. So fitting for the house of the Lord and so telling of the rich culture the people of Monza have.

Unlike most duomos it is not in fact a cathedral, as Monza has always been part of the Diocese of Milan. The church is also known as the Basilica of San Giovanni Battista from its dedication to John the Baptist. The façade is considered Romanesque in its structure and Gothic in its decoration.I like it more than the Duomo di Milano even if it is smaller. In the right transept is the entrance to the Serpero Museum which houses the treasury with the Iron Crown of Lombardy. It is situated in the historical center of Monza.Inside is majestic with different chapel. Apart the Iron Crown, the most famous attraction of the church is the Chapel of Theodelinda.

Monza's Cathedral is much bigger than you'd expect and a beautiful place to relax with a lovely bar across the piazza. Theodelinda the former queens crown is housed in the adjoining building.

An hystorical and architectural masterpiede, located in the very hearth of the ancient Longobard town, where Queen Teodolinda was instructed to build a sign of faith by the sacred dove: Modo Etia!
