I can recommend the family hostel bed&breakfast at Family Felicini in Tremosine. Nice little farmer house, clean nice rooms. The family is making their own bread, cheese, ham, wine and olive oil. They have cows, chickens and dogs, lives next door to you.The area is magnificent and good for walking. The view is beautiful. A small car with functioning horn is recommended the road to the house is very small and a little tricky.

If you plan to drive this spectacular road you should ask yourself, if you have sufficient driving skills and that you know exactly how wide your car is. You should be prepared for driving backwards on a narrow winding mountain road in search of a wide enough space to enable oncoming traffic to pass. If this is no problem for you then you definitely should drive this road. We decided to drive uphill - starting on the the intersection Gardesana Occidentale (SS45) and Via Benaco / GPS 45.768550, 10.761991. The road provides spectacular views onto Lake Garda and runs through many unlit narrow tunnels. Please note that there is no space to park your car to take pictures.

I've certainly never driven on such a road. We were on the way to "La Forra" restaurant - even from the map the road looked interesting - it certainly confused our satnav! (The official name is Via Benaco.) Approaching from Lake Garda it's a winding single-track road through several unlit tunnels and a box canyon. (Apparently the road was used in the Bond film "Quantum of Solace", now on our to-view list!)At night there's some modest floodlighting in the canyon, and marvellous views across the lake of the lights of Malcesine. Though not a lot of opportunity for the driver to stop and enjoy it!Popular with motorcyclists and the classic car community, as you might expect.

si sogna davvero percorrendo LA FORRA.Curve cieche, strapiombi, panorami mozzafiato, gallerie scavate nella roccia... ECCO LA FORRA!!!Un consiglio, se non soffrite di mal d'auto, percorretela almeno una volta nella vita da passeggeri e non da guidatori... Ne trarrete un beneficio interiore difficile da descrivere... Vi sembrerà di sognare.Secondo me, una delle più belle strade panoramiche d' Europa.

Premessa:I lavori iniziarono nel 1908 e si conclusero nel 1913. L'inaugurazione avvenne il 18 maggio dello stesso anno: un corteo di autovetture percorse la strada in tutta la sua interezza fra due ali di folla per giungere al porto di Tremosine dove attendeva un piroscafo speciale per salpare in direzione del porto di Desenzano sul Lago in quanto ai tempi non esisteva un collegamento stradale lungo la sponda occidentale del lago.Considerata una delle 8 meraviglie, da percorrere almeno una volta nella vita. Tornanti con vista mozzafiato sul lago e gallerie scavate nella roccia. Da percorrere almeno una volta nella vita.E' stata molte volte prova speciale del rally Mille Miglia di Brescia

Lungo la Gardesana Occidentale ss45bis a metà strada tra Limone DG e Campione DG, si imbocca la svolta per Tremosine. La strada inizia molto stretta (è naturale chiedersi se è a senso unico) e procede lungo il fianco della montagna a ridosso del lago, attraverso gallerie antiche e non illuminate, fino ad una svolta verso l'interno. Da qui l'asfalto si aggroviglia all'interno della roccia, mostrando a chi passa le viscere della montagna, e sbucando in tornanti con cascatelle e ponti dai quali è possibile ammirare questa spaccatura nella terra lungo la quale si snoda la strada. Veramente suggestivo. Ovviamente per chi guida è meno panoramico, dovendo guardarsi dalle macchine che provengono dal senso opposto.

Caminhar ou pedalar pela Strada della Forra é um passeio indescritível e imperdível. As paisagens que surgem a cada curva, após cada túnel são de tirar suspiros e encher os olhos.Existem trechos que permitem caminhar pela estrada velha, saindo dos túneis modernos. Nessa estrada velha a paisagem é ainda mais impressionante, chegando a ter cachoeiras em determinados pontos.Não exige bom condicionamento físico, porque não há subidas ou descidas. Todo o trecho é praticamente reto.Pretendo fazer novamente em algum momento, de tão imperdível que é.
