we found this place by accident and decided to go on; we loved to read and learn about the local history which is much richer than we had known up to then; on top : the museum offers a bunch of things that are and very old and not that old, this is the way we like musea : a little bit chaotic

There were four floors of exhibits, the first two of which were set up as the original baroque home. Beautiful art, a beautiful "piano" played by Beethoven, and on the upper floors items from Roman times as well as a model of the Gravenstein castle before it was destroyed by the French in the late 1700s (rather a habit of theirs, although not surprising in view of the strategic location of the castle).

This was a nice place to visit during my hiking, it gives the local history which includes some places that were prominent in the 30 Years War - some artifacts found nearby are also of interest. The guide was knowledgeable and unobtrusive.

A treasure of the old patrician home, where Goethe once spent the night, when it was still the home of the wealthy wine family. Boecking. Lovingly collected items to take you back to the days of the 17 hundreds, history of wine industry and back to the castle days in the 13 hundreds. Self-guided tour, well worth the visit.

Aardig museum met veel oude meubels, alleen jammer dat er geen info gegeven wordt.Blijft wel leuk om even te kijken en 2,50 is niet teveel voor mooie spullen te bekijken.Het is wel apart, dat de brand van rond 1550 genoemd wordt , maar niemand weet hoe de brand ontstaan is. Wel dat er 1400 woningen afgebrand zijn en daardoor 1700 mensen dakloos werden. Op de 3e etage is nog wat te zien van de brandschade. De zolder is interessant vanwege de verschillende beroepbenodigheden. ( oa schoenlapper en wasvrouw). De linnencollectie is aanzienlijk op de 2e verdieping en erg mooi.

Посетили Музей Среднего Мозеля, путешествуя на велосипедах. Прекрасный музей. Со вкусом подобранная экспозиция, рассказывающая о культуре, истории и быте этого края. Очень интересно представлена история мощнейшей (но, к сожалению, не сохранившейся) французской крепости Монт-Рояль, построенной при Людовике XIV, когда эти земли были временно присоединены к Французскому королевству.

Zeer interessant, vooral op de zolder waar stukken gevonden in de grevenburg en mont royal liggen is het een kijkje waard. Voor de prijs hoef je het niet te laten

wir kamen uns in die Zeit der Renaissance versetzt, viele schöne alte Details. Sehr Interesand eingerichtet. Das Personal hilfsbereit bei Fragen zu den Epochen und den Traben-Trarbacher Winzern, den Anbau der Weinberge, Geschirr aus der alten Zeit. Traben-Trarbach hat ja einiges im Krieg abbekommen, was heute wieder liebevoll aufgebaut wurde. Wir werden wieder kommen, in absehbarer Zeit.

Die Barockvilla Haus Böcking hat als eines der wenigen Gebäude Trabachs den großen Brand von 1879 überlebt. Hier befindet sich heute das sehenswerte Mittelmosel-Museum. Dazu gehören die prachtvollen Repräsentationsräume der Villa ebenso wie z.B. Display zum ländlichen Leben oder zum Weinbau. Eine freundliche und kompetente Museumsmitarbeiterin gab eine gute Einführung und auf Wunsch weitere Auskünfte zu einzelnen Exponanten, z.B. zu einem von Nannette Streicher erbautem Hammerklavier.
