Most zoos and animal parks overwhelm you with the number of species. This park is well-integrated into its surroundings (the birds of prey are in the castle ruins). It contains two types of wolves and handful of birds. I left the park feeling like I had really learned something about the animals and enjoyed a beautiful day in a beautiful area. Often times when I leave a zoo I feel exhausted and overwhelmed; not so here. The wolves had very large areas for themselves, which was also unusual for animal parks I've seen.

Opportunity to see timber wolves, wild boars and birds of prey in a relative natural envronment. Nice shows, not too commercial. Great day out!

This park is located very close to Gerolstein. When you arrive you first notice the ruïnes of a castle. you can have a good look around and you can climb up to the tower. It offers you stunning views. They also have a bird of prey show, they even fly vultures which is quite spectacular. They do two shows a day. The highlight of the park are, of course, the wolves. They have 18 wolves, they are fed 2 times a day which is an event. If you are willing to pay 10 € you are allowed inside their territory so you can photograph them from close by! They have a really natural environment and a huge enclosure, try to be there around feeding times so you can see their natural behaviour. The information they have on the boards is really extensive. The park also has 2 polar wolves but as they only arrived in January they are still quite shy. The park also has a nature path for children and the environment itself has a really relaxed and soothing atmosphere. Loads of green around, info boards with info on birds and other species as well. Other animals are wild boar, you can feed them for a small fee. At their enclosure you can also enjoy loads of species of birds, like yellow hammer and goldfinch. The walk ends at the enclosure of the gots. There is a small shop at the entrance and a place to have hot and cold food. Nothing fancy but reasonable priced food. All in all a lovely relaxing place to spend a morning or afternoon.

Wij zijn hier buiten het seizoen geweest en vonden het al zeker de moeite waard!Op zaterdag en zondag worden om 14.00 de wolven gevoerd en dat is al een attractie op zich.Er zit een roedel van een stuk of twaalf wolven, dan een stuk met twee wolven, groot stuk met everzwijnen, groot stuk met herten en nog een stuk met geiten.In het kasteel bevinden zich verschillende volieres met adelaars, uilen en andere grote vogels.

Het eerste wat opvalt aan dit park, is dat de omgeving werkelijk prachtig is. De wandeling door het park kan heerlijk zijn, frisse lucht, mooie route door het bos. De verblijven van de wolven en de everzwijnen zijn prachtig ingericht, mooie natuurlijke omgeving. Verblijven van de vogels zijn wat kleiner. Verzorgers ogen gepassioneerd en geven leuke voorstellingen. Leuk park.

Es wäre super gewesen, wenn man am Eingang gesagt hätte das es steil bergab auf einem total vereisten Weg auf dem man sich wunderbar die Füße brechen kann geht. Der Park selbst ist sehr schön und die Tiere scheinen sehr gut versorgt zu sein. Bei uns war aber der Frust etwas überwiegend.

Een prachtig park. De dieren zien er goed uit, als dierliefhebber fijn om te zien. Ik ben er meerdere malen geweest en ik blijf er van genieten. Zeker een aanrader.

Toevallig zijn we bij dit mooie park gekomen.Het is geen dierentuin maar een park met vooral wolven, die men van verschillende plaatsen kan bekijken. Ook wilde varkens waren aanwezig en dan de burcht met roofvogels. Toen wij daar waren werden er ook voorstellingen met de roofvogels gegeven.In de burcht (ruine) kon men via een trap naar boven klauteren om daar te genieten van een adembenemend verzicht.Een aanrader.
